now back on topic does turner gill get a job somewhere?

WHITE WIFE! :omg:

If nobody offered him a job after last years coaching performance, I'd be surprised if anything changes this year. It's pretty shocking nobody has pulled the trigger yet imo

No thanks. The offense is much better than LSU's, we just can't stop anybody. If Bobby and Mickey leave and Jimbo hires a good DC it will all work out.

Louisville - Malzhan

Virginia - Charlie Strong
Notre Dame - Brian Kelly or Gruden if he doesn't go to the Redskins.

Louisville: agree
Colorado: It's rumored that they might not have money to buyout Hawkins
UVA: Derek Dooley from LaTech
ND: If they win out and go to a BCS bowl, I don't see how they fire Weis.

ETA: I agree that Charlie Strong needs a shot somewhere. Venables too.

They can't even afford to get rid of Sherman for another 2-3 years, let alone pay what Tubbs would deman.

Sherman was a bad hire anyway.

Dan Hawkins (the win over Kansas shouldn't save him) and Sherman at TAMU come to mind.

Doesn't look like either school could afford a buyout.

-Hawkins signed a extension less than year ago, and there was an article last month about CU massive debt.
-Sherman is in year 2 of a 7 year deal, plus Fran & RC are still on the payroll

At the beginning of the season I said Weiss was on the hot seat and this place was about to hang me for saying that.. Also, what about Tressel? The program appears to be on a slow decline (one can argue at least).

sorry, but i doubt that. many around the country, even here, were saying that there was a good chance that weis would be on the hot seat this year.

Actually rocket and a few others thought I was crazy for saying it. They might have been giving me a hard time just because but the guy has never won a big game, this is probably the best team he has had since being there which might be enough to save his job but I think overall it would be best for ND.

Yeah Sherman isn't going anywhere this year. TAMU will have to stick with him at least through next season.

FWIW aTm gets 5 million a year to play arkansas in the new cowboys stadium.

How much that goes to athletics i'm not sure.

A lot of schools cannot afford too fire their coaches. Sherman has only been at A&M for two years; most of the time schools will give their coaches at least three/four years to get their players in the program.

Ron Zook at Illinois. He will be lucky to last the season. His replacement? No idea, but Pat Fitzgerald at Northwestern will do well at a top-tier, or at least higher-tier, school.

And for some reason, Luke Fickell will be considered for the job as well. Which is stupid.

Fitzgerald leaving his alma mater for their biggest rival first would never happen, and second would be a public relations disaster for him personally

Zook is done. Look for an NFL type to come in and coach all this talent up.

You'd have to think that Zook is in trouble. They should try to get a proven college coach to utilize that talent. What about Turner Gill at Buffalo? He has strong ties to the midwest.
