First, why would Gruden's agent even approach him with an offer from LSU?

I don't see Miles walking away from a shot at the NC at this point in the season. I honestly believe him when he says he's happy here with this team and this team still has it's goals in front of them. Just don't see him taking the Michigan job and walking away.

And why wouldn't they wait until after the season for him? 'Bama waited for their "savior" last year and he didn't announce until Jan. 1 or 2 so why wouldn't they wait if that's what they truly want.

The big problem here is not if Miles leaves or not!
The problem is the media will now stop at nothing to make this a major problem for LSU's team/staff. I don't see how LSU will hold up to the barrage that has already started tonight!
I bet there are news crews in LM front yard now!

Short of signing a new contract with LSU tomorrow with a 15 million buy out for UM, there is no way around this for LSU. The media will stop at nothing!
Even Herbie said tonight there was no way out.

With the way LSU didn't even offer Spurrier a second interview back in the day, and the fact that he loves golf and has a membership at Augusta, I don't think he'll be headed our way. Although, he did have a very good relationship with Lombardi, our new System's President, that could be a big factor with Spurrier.

I know, but that was a really long time ago, and those ole cronies aren't there anymore. Matter of fact this LSU isn't that LSU at all. As far as his love for golf is concerned, I'm not too sure his love for winning the big daddy wouldn't trump his need to play Augusta, atleast for a while, until we can build him his own Augusta right here.

BigJ.... Welcome to the world of College Football at it's pinacle. They all know that, which is why they make all that money my man. It comes with the territory no matter where you coach on this level.

We are LSU, not Louisiana State. If you are going to call us by our full name, then call us Louisiana State University. I don't know why, but this annoys me to no end.

That annoys me as well.

I don't want Coach Miles to go. I keep thinking back to three years ago on Christmas night when Saban announced he was leaving. That made me sick and ruined my Christmas. At the time I said he was making a bad decision by leaving LSU. If Coach Miles leaves to go to Michigan, I feel it will be a bad decision as well for him. I think they'll have very good teams but many times coaches return to their alma mater and don't do as well as they hoped.

I love LSU and this is a stressful time for all of us that do. LSU is our family. It's not just buildings, but a spirit that unifies us no matter where we are in the world. I hope that in the short three years that Coach Miles has been here that his heart has been permanently tranformed into a Tiger heart.

"I just feel like we are going to hit a home run with this...
this is bad timing for LSU, not Michigan. We have a chance to get the coach of the number one team in the nation. He is one of the hottest coaches in the country, and he would leave LSU to come to Michigan. That makes us look pretty damn suite. This is actually perfect timing for Michigan in my opinion. Unless, there are things that none of us know that are bad about Miles, I really believe he is the only choice for us. He is perfect."

This is a quote from a poster on the Michigan Board. Seems like they think this is the only guy for them.

It stinks. LSU made Miles, not the other way around. He had more talent last year than this, and he didn't win a championship then. This year, other than the Florida game, he hasn't been the factor in winning games, and the Kentucky loss cancels out the Florida win.

Playing for a national championship is a dream, and, on top of it, he's hurting recruiting when this year should sell itself. Shame on him for not acknowledging that he's been handed the chance to win a national championship and just putting it to rest just as a sign of gratefulness.

It's like dating a supermodel but being unhappy because her eyes aren't blue.

This is THE recurring problem with Louisiana and Baton Rouge in particular. Our press "channel 2" and "The Adocate" cannot wait to put out dirt about our state and city. I don't live in Baton Rouge proper but I do call it home. I have lived around the country and have seen other cities problems. They DON'T advertise their dirty laundry nation wide. Our media seems to think this make them better. We are no worse than the rest of this country. No matter what WBRZ and The Advocate say!!!!

Lets keep our coach!

Ok just have Les take the job and announce it. Then he leaves before the SECCG game and Spurrier jumps on board and wins the SECCG and the NC. This is getting stupid. Nothing is going to happen until the NC game is over, that is if we play in it. Stop the madness and lets just get through these next 2 games. I think the team and organization knows what is going on and they will handle it professionally.

I feel stressed and depressed. I cant handle all of this again. I hope he stays but if he leaves I hope he keeps the players in best interest. This is a special year that does not come around often. It would be heartbreaking to see it ruined.

And Fla. won the NC with a loss last year. In 2003 we had a loss to Fla. and won the NC... its very hard to go through without a loss.

Lets see how this thing plays out. LSU will be ok, we were ok after the last coach left and we'll be ok if this does happen.

If you listen to some on here, anyone can do what Les has done, and in less(No pun ) time.

I don't see UM taking Miles as the HC...there are many other prominent candidates being mentioned, Kirk Ferentz, Bobby Petrino, Jon Gruden, Mike Trgovac...

Oh please let it be Mike Trgovac. Win for LSU, win for the Carolina Panthers. Their D has stunk it up this year!

You're making my point. Either a florida loss or a Kentucky loss puts us in the same position--right where we are now. I'm not a big Miles fan, but it hurts recruiting to lose him now.

I totally agree. He became a Tiger when he did everything he could to help "our state" (his words) during and after Katrina. He understood how much LSU football could help us heal. I hope he stays.
