Timing of this thing really sucks.

This. Can't blame Schiano for taking a head coaching job in the NFL. I don't see it working for Tampa, but that's not my concern. I'm sure the Glazers will wonder what they were thinking in a few months.

Schiano was just good enough to get Rutgers from 'awful' to 'adequate.' The recruiting class he was bringing in looked pretty strong, but sadly, it will be severely weakened by national signing day.

The outside 'names' I've heard in relation to the Rutgers job are pitiful.

Cignetti may be a very good coach, and he may be ready to be a college head coach, but it's unlikely he can save this recruiting class.

At a mid-level program like Rutgers, ONE botched recruiting class can really hurt, too.

Promoting Cignetti to head coach or Cristobal would probably be my first two choices if I was their AD.

this although Cignetti is not even the interim coach

Addozio from Temple maybe. Just before National Signing Day is terrible. Good news RU will save a million bucks this way

a bad recruiting class would hurt, but a bad hire would hurt even more for an even longer period of time.
