Do you know how the recruiting is organized and divided up at Pitt?

No, you don't.

This is all pure speculation. Also, he was at Pitt for one year.

Good point. It's also significant to note that at least two highly regarded grad transfer quarterbacks were really high on Pitt and playing in that offense next year. I'd think most quarterbacks will like the flexibility of the system and the ability to put up some nice numbers

Actually Canada has never been involved in recruiting at Wisconsin or NCST either. Every time he was replaced the next OC was a recruiter.

He's at Pitt. What did you expect?

Slightly more than 1 recruit since 2009

BDP was a GREAT recruiter, should he be the OC? Miles was also a GREAT recruiter, should he still be at LSU? Having great recruiters is a lot different than coaches that can develop players. Give me an OC who is an average recruiter but can develop a QB & run an innovative offense anyway.

I agree, but then O may be similar to Miles. However, I trust O more as a motivator and open to change. Did I also say better at clock management??

True but head coaches are much more limited in contact than assistant coaches. Saban is a great recruiter but honestly his staff does the majority of recruiting. IMO you need a good OC recruiting be damned.

A HC's job is to seal the deal with the recruit. Everyone else's job is to get the recruit to make a visit.

basically over his entire career his best recruit he has credit for bringing in would rank 2nd lowest on our current commit list. let that sink in.

Well, if Brennan recommits I guess we can throw that out the window huh?

Geographically Pitt's recruiting rivals would be Penn St, Ohio St and West Virginia. That's pretty tough competition for blue chippers.

The bottom line is this: Canada will take part in recruiting our current leans or guys on the fence. Maybe a couple other guys on the radar. Craig will probably do the most on the O side. Juluke will as well. He will start next season with a talent pool that surpasses anything he's ever had. What he's able to do with this group will lay the recruiting foundation going forward.

Next year, barring other staff changes we will have the following recruiting:

QBs: Craig/Canada
WRs: Craig
TEs: Ensminger
RBs: Juluke
OL: Grimes

I think we'll be fine

This is the biggest program he's ever been to. Now that the talent level of his recruiting targets has increased, so will his perceived ability. That's why people trying to pass full judgement on his ability prior to being here is dense.

I think it's a bit more important that they coach the players up to do all the little things that all matter.

The offense needs a culture change. Too many drops, lazy blocking, not enough hustle.

The Miles needs to get ran/coached out of them.

Yes, Canada did a really good job in securing Brennan. Now if he can help LSU land Devonta Smith and Cam Akers, especially only arriving here this month, it would definitely be impressive.

He's already spoken with Akers, Devonta and Narcisse on the phone. Devonta has now added an additional trip to LSU. Reportedly Narcisse and Akers were both very impressed with Canada and liked what the heard about his offense.

Not too shabby in less than 48 hours from being named OC.

Canada is not a good recruiter.

Much easier to recruit at LSU than Pitt.

Some coaches have to be coached on how to recruit.

Canada is a better recruiter than some of you are giving him credit for, but that will all play itself out...
