Dude just won the Rose Bowl and is headed to the "Big" East where he will likely contend for a NC in the next 5 years. Yet he is going to drop all and run to BR because we are LSU? Maybe the NC Ball at TCU would be smaller?!?!?

I know this kind of logic can be hard for some of you...

if you think TCU is on PAR with a big time program.

Winning one game doesn't prove anything. Congrats to TCU. Really, good for them. But if you don't think Arkansas, LSU, Alabama, Auburn, & Miss. State would have gone undefeated with their same schedule, you are a joke. Anyone can get up for one game.

since when was TCU a power house? stanford is in an automatic qualifying conference, whys harbaugh even consider michigan? why did richrod leave big east west virginia? automatic qualifying conferences doesnt make the job better.

TCU is a senior laden team. losing tons of starters, including QB. if he wants to move up, this is the perfect opportunity. maybe he doesnt, but that doesnt mean hes in the perfect situation

LSU >>>>>>>>>>>>>> TCU

I guarantee you TCU will start losing to WVU, South Florida, etc soon. They do not get elite recruits out of the state of Texas and they won't have a senior laden team again. They'll be competitive and win the conference some, but it won't be automatic.

And btw, there is a huge difference in $$$$$ for the head coach in question.

They do not get elite recruits out of the state of Texas and they won't have a senior laden team again. This will change after a few upper level bowl games and a chance to contend for a NC. All of a sudden 2nd string at TX doesnt look nearly as good.

They'll be competitive and win the conference some, but it won't be automatic. sure it won't but if they win their conference they WILL automatically qualify for a BCS game see above

Even if they won't admit it, all of the coaches know that the SEC is the best conference in college football. He would be an idiot to pass up a place like LSU.

Don't be naive, it's called money. LSU can outbid TCU anytime they choose.

Yet, most SEC jobs are BY FAR better and higher paying and you think everyone else is a moron for thinking he might consider leaving?

Your're calling everyone hear a moron and then make this statement. If TCU had been in the Big East this season then they would have been in the same boat they were in this year. They would have finished 3rd behind Oregon and Auburn. There is no way they would have jumped one of those teams. Just no way. And in the future there is just as likely to be SEC, Pac 10, Big 12, Big 10 teams that will have to lose before any undefeated team of the Big East gets a shot.

The only thing dumber than assuming that Patterson would automatically come to LSU if offered, is to assume that there is no chance of that happening.

LSU is a tremendous job that pays a lot of money. LSU should absolutely look into Patterson. Obviously, it's not a certainty that he would come. But, to say that there is no chance frankly is ignorant.

I got about 1.5 million worth of logic for you.

1.) He contends at LSU....NEXT year.
2.) He will always be at best second or third fiddle in his own STATE.

Did I mention he almost doubles his salary.

Now, I dont think we will have a job for him. But to think he would not lend an ear is just strange.
