Why is it every time we go through a coaching change it is the most ridiculous process ever?

Why does it seem like every candidate is just using us?

Why do I feel less confident in the results than ever before?

What is the main issue now? We don't even interview Pellini, now we can't get an interview to go right, don't vet things (Neilson), etc?

It's such a ridiculously disorganized clown show every couple of years. 2019 was a gift from the football Gods but outside of that I don't get it.

Did we not get our first OC we wanted? Did we not get our first DC call last year?

You got your first DC call last year because nobody else was calling. That and the cupboard was mostly empty since most of the hiring was done in NCAA.

Do you people know anything about hiring and firing.
All you can do is offer.2 guys were offered 2. Not the
5or6 that Sark went through.
There are 32 nfl teams annd 128 college programs ,ther are
alot of coaches out there .But Lord forgive if the fooball
gurus on here haven`t heard of him.hes got to suck right.

Sark went through 5 or 6 in two weeks, we’ve talked to half as many candidates in twice the time.

While Sark was also coaching in the CFP, same with Saban.

CEO/LSU knew they had to hire a new DC after the Auburn game, first program prospecting for a DC! They've literally had all this time to identify and vet all possible candidates and have whiffed...now sitting at the drawing board again!

This isn’t a coach o or Woodward problem. It’s been this way before they were here. Think back to the firing miles fiasco. The problem is too many leaks in the football facilities. Everyone wants to break the news on here and other places and it puts LSU in a bad position and the potential hires in a bad position to come here but a good position to use LSU as leverage.

Because you read and buy in to the panic and doom/gloom this board projects way too much.

Outside of Freeman who used us? Saints kept Nielsen due to legal issues and then gave him a raise and promotion to make him happy about blocking his initial move.

Well I doesn't have a great hiring history so some nervousness is definitely warranted. Although I don't see any reason why there's more panic now than there was a few days ago before the Nielsen situation.

People keep saying this like it's LSU's fault about Nielsen's contract. No way they could have known that ahead of time. I don't know of any issues now except that we have to go down the list of available coaches and find the best available. There's still some out there. I will withhold judgement on this whole process until I see who we ultimately get and the results on the field next year.

Bc Orgeron is a disorganized, hard headed person who does not learn from his mistakes and every decision he makes is influenced by emotion and ego.

Arnsparger going to Fla “just to talk”
Players essentially choosing Archer to be the next coach.
Pat Sullivan fiasco.
Hiring a man with a 9-22 SEC record and most recent loss of 65-0
Less than compelling hire in Miles
Miles to Michigan
Jimbo fiasco
Jimbo/Herman/O fiasco
Canada
Pelini
0-2 on Pelini replacement

Granted, some of these things worked out for the best. But it doesn’t change the fact that shite shows have been a large part of LSU coaching hires for the last 35 years.

I’m a professional recruiter with 2 decades of experience. With any hire the goal is to get the best candidate not the first available. It’s also not the goal to please everyone on Tiger Droppings

Because the internet demands to know what is going on with every candidate, and the sports news media race each other to get any news, made up or not, out to the public to increase their readership.
If O and LSU would just keep totally quiet until the contract is signed, we could stop all this angst.

Honestly, this happens at a lot of schools. Auburn and Texas, to start.
