Right. Why people are even mentioning Salisbury in some sort of OC capacity is bewildering. So we'd trade a reluctant OC who hadn't had to build and offense in 20 years for a guy who has never been an OC?

It was tongue in cheek post.

"SOME CHANGES"

A big splash at OC is needed, but with "some changes" means very little will change. I am in no way in SS at the program, let alone becoming co-oc.

I don't think Salisbury has even coached. He ran a QB camp, but has not been on staff anywhere that I can find.

What do you have against Salisbury? I don’t want him as OC but an analyst or QB coach would be a nice role for him

Ah. I should have known that but I would not expect Woodward to leave A&M. Despite his lineage he has a very good deal at A&M. If he would come back that would be amazing, but seems very unlikely.

If they do bring in a new OC, like a briles, whoever...name them Co-OC and full OC year after. SE just finished 1st year of his 2yr contract, would save face for SE and EO. Would be "smooth transition"

IMO, LSU needs a clean break, a fresh start and a change today.

Hugh Freeze, Kendall Briles or Kliff Kingsbury. Those are the best OC options in the country -- hiring one should be Orgeron's top priority and LSU's biggest focus at the moment.

Co-OC...? Nah, not unless you're getting one of those names. LSU can afford proven, experienced coaches. Don't screw around, just do it.

Well Freeze is interviewing in Knoxville now.

Wouldn't it be ironic if Freeze goes to UT and helps them beat Bama. How long before Bama removes UT as a cross division scheduled team?

They were young, inexperienced, and had no depth. Along with losing our best one before the season. injuries never allowed them to gain any continuity, which is huge for an OLine. It was a different starting 5 every week for the first half of the season. Also we have too many guards and not enough tackles. Add to that we had our worst RB talent in 20 years that can usually mask some of the Oline deficiencies. This is what O meant by saying it wasn't the scheme, it was lack of talent vs Alabama. (it was both, but he wasn't totally wrong.)

Id argue that Clegg did a great job patching up the line all season with all those obstacles. Before calling for the guy's head, you have to ask what he did wrong, and what he could have done better? not much with the hand he was dealt

Rohan touched on it yesterday. He said that once the season started they didn't have time to go over certain things.

The offense was still being installed when the season started. Couple that with the mash unit offensive line that had several players that were either playing out of position or not ready to play yet and you get disaster.

Some changes sounds kinda meh so far. Have you heard any names on who might be coming in? If so whats your thoughts on them? If a "co oc" will they be calling plays instead of SE and be bumped to full OC next year?

LSU saved a lot of money from Miles buyout now. Funds are available to drop 2.5 on another OC. Decrease Aranda down to 1.8m. Defense was above average at best. Nothing spectacular.

Aranda will not and should not be decreased. We had players hurt, depth problems and no help from the offense and still led in turnovers. If not for the defense LSU loses a few more games this year. Hell the defense is why we beat UGA.

Nothing in particular. But how much would he be bringing to the table?

If TBlawyer is correct about "some changes" and those changes happen to be of SS and an new WR coach, I might burn this bitch to the ground....not really, I'll just piss and moan for a few weeks.

I love how Aranda gets a break on injuries but the offense doesn't get the same consideration.

All I can say is something IS going on and IF it plays out, there are going to be some happy LSU fans.

losing a co-Wr coach to retirement and picking up Sean Salsbery as a QB coach is hardly anything to be happy about.. Im ok with everyone on staff actually except CSE calling plays. and i will say this, considering what he had, it wasnt all THAT bad... he had a make shift line, no RB, and very green but talented WRS... and a new QB, I wont be that mad if he returns next year because they all will be more comfortable in his systems and everyone on offense returns except for our 4th string RB from a year ago... and youre replacing him with a 5 star stud.. I think next year 4 WRS could have monster break out years. Dee Anderson, Sullivan, Marshall, Chase... And Pettigrew will be the surprise of the decade...
