False. Les miles threatened to go to Arkansas....like really? And our dumb frick AD bought the whole thing....and then of course the whole Michigan rumor back in 07'. So no, not just Texas schools at all.

CLM did not "threaten to go to Arkansas". Good lord. He simply listened...as opposed to initiating the contact....to an old friend, the AD at Arkansas, who if one is to believe several reports, talked to CLM about a lot of subjects, one being the open job. LSU initiated the extension. Alleva may be many things but he is not "dumb".

Do any Aggies here know if any of y'alls defensive staff was retained? If Foster were to go, he'd probably want to take his D-Line coach Wiles. (Great coach, average recruiter with few Southern ties) I would assume Beamer would promote Torian Gray to DC if Bud were to leave. He's been DBs coach since 2006 after Whammy Ward left and he's the real deal. If somehow the Aggies got all 3, A&M will be hell to play.

At this point, only the DC has been let go. I am sort of new to a DC change, but there is likely a discussion with the HC. I am sure any DC would want to take a member or a two from his staff at the least, maybe all.

A&M thinks pretty highly of its DL coach, alum, recruits very well, given some credit for landing Myles Garrett. It seems that the DB coach is pretty important to our Louisiana recruiting connections and has been leading a good bit of it. The DB coach has also only been there a year.

So that is a bit of information, but the truth is who knows. Sumlin is very partial to good recruiters for position coaches.

Likely only Price. Hagan has been worthless and our DBs have sucked under Joseph.

They weren't as bad as they were in 2013, and much of their problems in 2014 was Snyder having the CBs play man with no help over the top.

the DBs were only "bad" b/c we had no pressure on the QB the majority of each game and RBs often could get 3-4 yards before they were hit.

losing Stansbury, Golden, and Caliborne was the death of the D.

Foster would be like Davie I think. The Wrecking Crew would be back and the Defense would be frighteningly good.

You can legitimately see what Foster would do as the guys he had at Tech were as good if not better than aTm.

Interesting:

Have a friend who is a VT booster and the man has 'hot pants' if you get my drift.

College Station females better look out.

That's directly tied to how little pressure the defense put on opposing QBs. If you don't pressure the QB and can't stop the run your DBs are not going to make many big plays.

O and Sumlin actually has a talented team

It would be interesting to see how Sumlins talent mixed with Foster. Foster is a no nonsense guy and may run some of those prima donnas off, but it would help them as a team to do so.

They'd definitely argue over which rap songs to put on the playlists for practice

Yeah, typical Pac vs Biggie power struggle

If we don't get him, I think this will be the main reason

This is heating up, local media people tweeting it's gonna happen and Foster no showed for a home visit with LB recruit Ricky DeBerry tonight. Also, him telling Josh Sweat he wouldn't be there next year is supposedly why Sweat picked FSU.
