Imagine dumping 100+ mill guaranteed to Jimbo when you could have had Aranda for a regular 5-7 mill a year.

Damn who would have ever thought I was agreeing with TPK?

Helton was similar with the religion and he was their HC for a while and certainly wasn't fired for that variable.

LA is a shite hole. I'm there enough to know. USC is right in the middle of that shithole.

Totally agree. Hasn't been a fit at LSU since 1893. Aranda should return to southern California. LSU should get Napier for 10 years plus.

Malibu beachfront is only 20mins from that shithole or Newport to get out of the LA county

I'm almost positive that USC thought he was gonna be their D Coordinator the other year

Plus a Latino coach at USC. LSU better not frick this up to get Jimbo

I think you’re right and all these other candidates are fueled by illusions of grandeur.

Yeah I’ll be pissed if we lost Aranda. Living in California has an added dimension to my dislike of SC.

Hope Dave takes it. Pac 12 or BIG might be a better fit. Dude deserves the best situation and career. Smart, family guy, no scandals. Doing it the right way.

Disagree.

At USC, they'll take away the things that Aranda excels in.

This is what happens when you have a legit resume. You get offers from all over the country at top tier jobs.

You have been making about as much sense as him over the last few days

Think on that a bit

You would prefer a .500 coach, because the optics of the money isnt good. We went through that with Jimbo and herman, and got Ed instead. Rewatching that same movie isnt going to lead to a different ending. Sorry

Do not let that man go to Los Angeles. Bring him back to Baton Rouge. That is all.

I’ll lose my shite if we end up with anyone but Aranda or Napier.

At the end of the day, as long we end up with a quality head coach, I'll be pleased...

But, with each passing day, I grow more attached to the idea of Aranda being the man for the job. It could blow up in our faces, but it's a calculated risk worth taking.

I would run to the USC job if I were him.

USC has elite resources, in a watered-down conference, without the rabid fanbase. They let Clay Helton stay for 6 years, that's longer than we kept a NC winning version of Clay Helton. Aranda would get at least that long.
