That's legit one of the weirdest fricking rants I've ever read.

ETA - The admins whacked the wackiness. That's a shame. Sometimes you gotta let idiots look like idiots.

If Alleva had a winning lotto ticket he would stick it in the safe and lose the key.

This administration needs no help in that.

Cumbie actually reminds me a bit of Urban Meyer which is the only true spread system I think works in the SEC. CUM had success here because he understood in order to beat SEC teams you had to dominate the trenches. He had like all the best strengths from the spread stretching you across the field them ramming it down your throat.

Cumbie's system actually is similar to the power run CUM ran. Yeah, he spreads you out but he uses it not just for the pass but to setup some balance run schemes which is what you want in the SEC. I think he'd be a great hire for us.

Gilbert/Briles adapted to the Meyer/Malzahn run game which uses a wing back and sideline to sideline WR spacing to isolate the box.

it also matches up safeties (which are support defenders) to cover Wr's

but youre slightly wrong that Briles got it from Meyer/Malzahn. (yes, they are similar in what they do, but are distinctly different in a few things...) actually Briles was the one who combined the offenses while at Stephenville high.. I know this because my dad managed his clinics back in the day..

Ill briefly explain here in a min what Briles offense is based on and why you cant stop it.. DC's only hope to contain or limit it..

recruiting hasnt been the problem. QB development and cohesive offense has.

lets worry about their ability to do those things instead.

Ehhh.. As dreamy as it sounds to throw the ball all over the field with 50 passes a game.. We would have to undergo a couple seasons of recruiting completely differently.

According to cfbstats, TCU ran the ball 533 times this year and passed the ball 430 times. The run/pass balance was 55/45.

So A&M came after Aranda for two reasons: 1) he's a damn good coach and 2) it would weaken LSU.

For similar reasons if we get Cumbie I suppose it might help with North LA recruiting, as TCU seems to have a firm foothold up there, and it would certainly help with Texas, a blow against A&M. It would be too late for Justin Rogers but here are the LA recruits on TCU's roster:
John Diarse
Kavontae Turpin
Garrettt Wallow
Ni’Jeel Meeking
Kelton Hollins
Chris Bradley
Al’Dontre Davis
Artayvious Lynn
Dennis Collins

Though other than Rogers I don't know if there are any we truly wanted.

Just a thought.

The money isn’t O’s decision to make, bra. Alleva, King, and BoS are dictating to him what they’re willing to pay.

Cumbie also only makes $700,000 currently. If money is not an issue, like the OP has stated, he should be attainable

Im just hoping for a complete change in our offensive philosophy. Absolutely nothing similar to what we've been doing for the last 10 years. Wishful thinking though...
