The other sauces on this board think so. I was told we wont know until post season is over assuming a hire isnt made before then.

As much as I want to ride with GTN, I'm just going to resign myself to the fact that it will be Ensminger. At least this way I can only be pleasantly surprised.

There are several articles out now about Grant Gunnell being Coach O's target for our 2019 QB. He's listed as the #1 Pro style QB and is currently committed to A&M but is considering LSU because he thinks Jimbo wants dual-threat QBS...

So this makes me wonder why O would go for someone from the Air Raid tree. And it seems to me what we've learned from O's issues with Canada and his recent hires for OL and RB coach is that O wants to hire coaches he's worked with before and trusts.

I guess time will tell, but we know O trusts Kiffin and Briles works for Kiffin so that's why I think that makes sense. Do we know if O had any working relationships with Cumbie or Gilbert?

Why wait this long if the OC is already on staff?

We've had this discussion.

Appearances. Main reason your choice isn't here. How would it appear to people if we hired someone associated with rape. The horror.

It will appear that LSU went full out to get the best OC....and end up with some Ensminger/Sullivan co-cordinator crap

Agreed. And apologies to GTN, seems like a good person and means well. But just looking at what Delly has reported and the way Jordy and how T-Bob are speaking this morning, I think O is gonna settle with Ensminger in a Co-OC capacity

I personally don’t thing Gilbert would be a good hire. He didn’t develop any of the young quarterbacks at Texas

quote:

Sterlin Gilbert — Former Offensive Coordinator/QB Coach, Texas

Gilbert is a free agent after not being retained by Tom Herman, but he did a solid job with Texas’ offense in a transition year. He runs the Art Briles/Baylor version of the Air Raid, a unique animal unto itself among spread attacks. One that only Briles and his assistants know inside and out and one that isn’t readily shared the way other offenses typically are. But it’s a multi-faceted offense, as Texas ran for some 230 yards per game this year in addition to nearly 3,000 passing yards with freshman quarterback Shane Buechele.

Heres the problem with that. There was a legitimate attempt to hire Kendal. Terms and all. If we were simply going with Ensminger, why try that? It failed miserable , yes. But the fact stands that Briles was the first candidate Orgeron went for.

Give me Gilbert any damn day. Three seasons ago Tx’s O was atrocious! He came in year one and that O was rolling. Remarkable turn around, Strong just couldn’t get the D going and he got canned. And his USF O looks just as good in year one. This has always been one of my top choices for OC. I think he will fit more of what O wants to do as well....and if Buchele (sp?) did transfer from TX you know he would consider us. He thrived in Gilbert’s system as a true freshman.

Your life can't he this miserable my man. I'm gonna need for you to move on from Ensminger as well. That shite ain't happening. This staff is smart enough to know what's good for them (Aranda, 2.5mil). They know they can't frick this up. We'll see with Toucan Joe at the helm

Im going to stay on my side.

If it becomes Ensminger, there will be dark times ahead for LSU indeed.

But I stand by what ive said. It cannot be Ensminger. My source just has too many names..

Partner, if you don't think Tbob has valid connections to the program, you haven't been paying attention.

If true then I have 0 hope for this administration. They aren't committed to winning. Winners are bold and take chances. No risk, no reward.

No Baby Briles?

I'm done.

That's it.

Apathy in full engagement. My money will be spent on entertainment with a positive return.

Pro style? Ensminger as OC?

Won't even watch them on TV.

I know that seems over the top but we have all seen this play before and in the last act the hero dies a slow death.

Save the drama. I already know the ending

I'm good bro I probably care too much about LSU sports, but I don't let it take over my life like some. At the end of the day, LSU football doesn't pay my bills and I'm still gonna have to wake up and go to work five days a week I try to keep things in perspective. But I know what you mean.

I just can't see Ensminger getting the job. O is too concerned about angering the fan base. he has to know that the back lash would be on epic levels.
