Agreed. I really never saw it being Ensminger. Yes, he's mentioned his name to the press but that's the only way I looked at it. Like I said, Alexander, Alleva and Coach O know that this is the hire that makes or breaks them. I haven't been as harsh on our Administration like most have been (rightfully so in some aspects) but if this hire isn't right, they gotta go.

Devil's advocate here...just providing the view from the other side as to why admin couldn't allow a Briles hire.

I know the extent to what Kendal has been mentioned thus far in the cover-up scandal is very small and meaningless. BUT we all know this thing isn't over yet. What would it look like if a year, two years down the road irrefutable proof that he was complicit with the cover up came out? LSU can't take that risk. Even if not for the negative PR, but the chance to be in the exact same situation we are now, possibly mid-season.

The Chaney stuff is silly. He is the oc of a team in the nc game. He either wins a title and Uga ain't letting him go or he gets 21-0ed and proves saban won't lose to that type of oc

What if uga loses 38-35?

I dont have anything to add to this thread as far as sauces, but after reading this, Im fired up and calling dibs on driving the maniac float that steers off course and wrecks the party.

You deserve a couple of those my friend!! I care about LSU just as much. Just don't like to see my fellow fans in shambles over some bullshite rumors but I understand where you're coming from as well. I think we'll be alright, bro!!

I love this program to death and always will! I just know this isn't how LSU operates. We look unorganized....LSU never looks unorganized. This shite makes the school look remedial, not just the Football team.

There was a legitimate attempt to hire Kendal. Terms and all.

Before they found out they couldn't hire him?

Damn dude don't be so gulible. I am not trying to be a dick. Terms and all and oh the last second no way can you hire that guy. That says two things- either they are so stupid to not find out if they could even hire the guy BEFORE terms and all or it's total bullshite and it's Ensminger. The more you type, the more I say the latter

Give me Gilbert any damn day. Three seasons ago Tx’s O was atrocious! He came in year one and that O was rolling.

Another thought about Gilbert considering our RB depth. He was at UT when Nick Brossette almost signed with UT over LSU.

I had already said why it failed. Whatever was drawn up for Kendal was drawn up to show Alleva and say "heres what I want to do, lets do it.". The negativity proved to be way too much and we are where we are now.

The admin clearly wasnt going to risk it, especially not after the backlash before people even knew oir HC was moving to do it.

Just the simple fact that his name was gaining steam triggered people. That is why this failed. The baggage obviously didnt help, but there was obviously a dribe to hire the man within the staff.

Only thing about Gilbert is I don’t think I ever saw UT throw over te middle. Either deep, quick out, or sideline. Maybe frosh qb had something to do with it. Would be a nice hire. Foreman had a great year running the ball.

Got confirmation that the Briles terms were nixed. Its over.

I fricking hate this admin so much

It truly amazes me how much they can transform something that was at the top of the CFB world for several years into a complete shite show that can barely field a top 25 team.

we are operating with the "money is no object" mentality for this hire.

If this is the case I'll take back everything I ever said about CEO.

I'm not too picky on who they get I just want to see the development of the QBs and passing in the middle of the field. Is that too much to ask for?

Chaneys name continues to pop up , which is still very ludicrous to me.

Not really. Only at LSU does it take 20 effing years to install an offense.

And QBs - Ala. last year, early in the season, inserted a true frosh into the lineup; he seemed to do OK. Ditto for GA this year.

It isnt gullibility. See where I am coming from. You dont throw 2.5 mil at Aranda in a stand off against A&M to turn around and hire Ensminger.

If he is hired, this administration will lose every shred of respect anyone had for it.

Its not gullibility. I have reason to believe every bit of it. The info ive been fed has been correct up to this point.

Until I see Steve Ensminger announce his hiring at a podium, there is an OC search being conducted as we speak.

If im wrong I will of course apologize. But I believe what ive heard.

If money is no object then offer 2 million per to sonny Cumbie. Make TCU pony up. This is what college football is now. This is the new rate for top notch coordinators. If our approach is to get the best coordinators by paying our head coach less then do it.
