If miles wasn't offered, then Brandon needs to get on the phone and tell McCartney to shut his loud mouth. He needs totell ole Bill that he owes Les a public apology for telling the media he's disappointed in Miles for not taking the job.

Hoke might very well turn out to be a good hire, but to pick him over either Harbaugh or Miles would be an offense worthy of a firing.

Reminds me of that video taunting the Auburn AD for the Chizek hire.

And I doubt this alleged low-ball offer to Les, too. As spectacularly bad as RichRod was, Michigan couldn't afford to be cheap if they targeted a guy they wanted. Seems like a fabricated story to depict Les as someone who valued the almighty dollar over his alma mater and keep Michigan from looking bad. Unfortunately for them, Brandon's proclamation that Les was never formally offered the job is making them look even dumber.

Totally fabricated. If he thinks any reasonable Michigan fan is going to buy this he is out of his damn mind. The only people that might are Lloyd cronies who wanted Hoke the last go around for whatever reason. It's unfathomable to me that coaches like Les Miles and Jim Harbaugh would be passed up for Brady Hoke. Personally, I'm kind of offended Brandon would try to pass this off as the truth, like he thinks we are all dumb enough to believe it.

timing is everything, if UM would have offered Les the job his last year at osu he would have jumped at the opportunity, same with Jim Har. 4 years ago. They are both now at the pinnacle of their profession and making huge salaries at great football programs. I don't think Nick would have left LSU for Alabama or a down Penn State program, he left for the NFL. You can't blame UM for targeting Les and Jim but it was going to be a hard sell and unlikely. When Big time college programs are down there is much pressure on incoming coaches to produce and the stars have to align for success. Nick wasn't a household name when we hired him in 2000. You have to play with the cards you're dealt and Les and Jim were not in Brandon's hand. Admit it, move on and play with Hoke.

Wow. Its amazing how much power that guy has if this is true. When are these elitists going to realize the times have changed and kids dont give a shite about UM's tradition. UM is a great university but as long as they maintain this type of mentality they will become even more irrelevant than they already are.

Brandon: Les would you be interested in the job for $5 mill?
Les : No
Brandon: Well,if we had offered that's what we would offer!
Les: I not interested in rebuilding a program that has slipped out of the top 30 programs in the NCAA.

Its not possible you really believe this. You hate Miles....fair enough but if you believe he wasn't wanted and offered by Mich. You are delusional

Schad called Miles to UM. ESPN just can't get LSU right, hoss. Explain relief.

If anyone believes that Michigan did NOT offer Harbaugh or Miles but waited to offer Hoke, then honestly, they should demand the firing of their AD immediately!!! shite, that's worse than offering and being refused. You simply passed over major college dudes to get some guy with 2 separate single year successes at minor programs?

Yeah, right.

Don't be too amazed - this is the same kind of power Paul Dietzel had among many of the LSU faithful long after he left LSU for West Point. Powerful enough to rock many of the Cholly Mac years with controversy and hostility, even though Cholly was an LSU man (by choice) and highly successful by the standards of that day.

Power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely.

I commented on this yesterday. Brandon came and talked to Les and gave him the general terms of an offer to see if Les would take it. When Les said he was not interested in coaching, the offer was never formally put forward.

LMAO, is this the first time you guys follow a coach search??? It's the same thing everyone does/says. The hire is always "the only candidate we really looked at," it's cliche, nothing to flame.

Brandon is just saving face- "offer" was never made because they knew he wouldn't accept.

Miles will never point this out.
