Rumor floating on Michigan message boards:

Lloyd Carr, for whatever reason, does not like Miles. He was not going to let Miles be hired, but to satisfy some of those people high up at Michigan who wanted Miles - he had Miles interviewed. Brady Hoke was always there guy.

Do I believe that? Not sure, but honestly I think UM gave Miles a big figure. In the end, he couldn't leave LSU. Like he said he made a commitment.

Nobody else wants our coach, and evidently we're willing to extend his contrac

obviously this means no one wants Harbaugh, see how stupid you sound

I do find it odd that they had this other dude hired less than 24 hrs after LM met with them.

.They got turned down at least 3 times. It's real likely that Brandon fueled up an airplane, flew to Baton Rouge, had a multiple hour meeting with Miles, his agent and his wife but yet never wanted him

I'm pretty sure he met with Fitzgerald too.

That airplane left Willow Creek (outside Ann Arbor) and stopped in:
1) outside Pittsburgh - who knows why
2) Chicago - 10 min from Pat Fitzgerald and stayed overnight
3) Scottsdale
4) las Vegas
5) Dallas - Patterson
6) Baton Rouge - Les Miles

Also, to say Harbaugh wasn't "offered" might be the literal truth, but it's not being honest. If Hoke was plan A, he would have been offered and accepted early last week.

And then after flying around the country meeting with plan B and C candidates, he offers Hoke.

he didnt offer but less than 2 hours after the official announcement went down with Miles, they hire a lesser known, worse record coach.

Just go ahead and be happy, Choctaw. You've got your man, and we've all got Big10 style football for another decade at least.

even the Michigan boards don't believe their AD's line of BS...if you actually believe Hoke was their first choice all along over Miles and Harbaugh then...you mad!

Thanks bp... we can only hope.

Still curious whether he would promote from within with BG or go outside the program and bring in someone new.

Only time will tell at this point

This is actually worse than just saying they turned us down. Will piss a lot, and I mean a lot of fans, alum, donors off. He wanted a hire that would unify the fanbase, and really, people probably would have rallied behind Hoke, even if they weren't crazy about the hire. But to tell your constituents that you didn't even make an offer to two coaches that were fan favorites with great coaching pedigrees. Big mistake Pizza Man.

I don't think this is true...my source specifically said that it was not a low ball offer and very significant.

Brandon is full of shite.
How long did they wait on Miles - almost a full week.
Les was offered $ and it was not "lowball" and guess what, he decided to turn them down.
Miles is an LSU man now - get over it MI and
