Apparently Moorehead thinks so. He could easily get a good assessment of Shoop from James Franklin.
Botch and his culture, existing D staff hired by Botch, soft S&C, extensive injuries, lack of quality depth, poor player development, anemic offense, etc... A lot of significant issues at UT beyond Shoop's control.

Baseball coaches seem to make good ADs. Football coaches not so much for some reason.

Actually I think this is not a great hire. They made the move to a 3-4 3 years ago.
This will move them back to a 4-3 and I think they become a mid level defense like that.
That cuts their chances at an Sec championship.

Football coaches are too RA-RA and make seem to make emotional/ egotistical decisions as opposed to baseball where everything is more of a metrical chess game. You also have to be way more patient in baseball which helps. Just my opinion.

AD 1 blows the offer to coaching choice A, gets pissy and hires 4th or 5th choice.
AD 2 feels like he got stood up, gets pissy and hires someone nobody's ever heard of.
Seems like both AD's made the same exact mistake

Bs, he vetted multiple guys. He saw Petrino was a lil bitch and went with Les.
Who won a national title. Seems like he made the right hire.

Shoop had a really good defense at Penn State and Moorehead and him probably work good together, good hire. IMO

I never got Chicken Fried Steak. Too fatty and it's freaking steak why not eat it normally?
