He wants it, the fans don't. Hopefully Brady has someone up his sleeve

Yeah Carroll wants it bad. I wouldn't mind it especially if not grabbing a QB this year.

Was the best coach available this cycle imo. One step closer to the Cowboys hiring Deion.

Just goes to show how little an “aligned” organization mattered to Johnson. The Bears are a garbage org with a dead man walking GM. But they have an interesting qb prospect, which is all that matters.

Look at the choices. All of them are lacking in at least one of those, gm or intriguing qb, and some are lacking in both.

Right - the perfect situation rarely comes up. Maybe Harbaugh last year but it may end up that he hitched himself to a playoff loser.

He was much better than Trevor Lawrence this year.

Trevor Lawrence was bad this year even before he got hurt.Looked like a High school QB many times starring down the primary receiver. All that money spent and not sure Lawrence will ever live up to what he was billed as.

I just hope the new coach can get him on track. Press and Doug had the shittiest , most predictable offense in the nfl. Couldn’t scheme the run, last in the league in motion, reliant on a bunch of slow developing plays. Factor in Gabe Davis dropping everything and it was a recipe for disaster.

The Bears have 3 picks in the top 45, they have a ton of cap space, they have Caleb Williams, two great WR’s under contract, and a good young RT. They have a solid defense on the other side.

It’s the charter franchise in a major media market with a starved passionate fan base.

They took Wash, Det, GB, and MN all down to the wire and lost multiple games due to coaching malpractice.

This team is not far away.

The asked Pittsburgh if they were interested in trading Tomlin, but he has a no trade clause and said no.

I don’t think it’s a bad situation but you guys have also felt confident about your last two qb situations at various points

Why is he a dead man walking gm? He has them on the up and up.

Normally being on his second hire would turn up some heat on him but completely fleecing the Panthers in the Bryce deal buys him additional security.

They are 15-36 since he was hired and just won 5 games. If they win 6 or 7 games next year there are going to be a lot of questions, especially if Williams doesn’t look good

Caleb as a rookie is already more advanced as a passer than either of them by their 3rd year. And now he has actual real coaching.

They’ll probably announce a contract extension for him in the coming weeks.

Also it’s a little disingenuous to crush him for the record. The Bears purposely tanked in year 1, and he did not exactly get to choose his first HC.

Poles is not really on his “second hire” though.

He was hired 2 days before Flus. Basically got handed 3 finalists while onboarding and weighed in.

Hot take- Johnson is a weirdo and will be flop. Not unlike Adam Gase or Marc Trestman.

His offense should be fun to watch tho

At some point you have to win games. You were defending Fields as a top 100 player in summer 2023 so let’s not pretend you’ve thought this has all been a giant rebuild.

Certainly possible.
