I have heard rumors from fairly close to the program (friends of players) that crowton thought he would be let go and was saying his goodbye's. Take it for what its worth, just passing it along.......

I will stick by my post of earlier last month...
Gonzales came here for a reason...Tyke Tolbert will be out of a job come Monday (or so) with the new Bills HC....

I'm thinking not quite Miles style; first he lines a job up for Crowton, then Crowton leaves.
Miles loyalty to his assistants and his seniors.
Did Miles 'fire' the two DC's last year, or did they have places lines up before they left? And did they get their bowl bonues?

Is Gonzales qualified to be the OC of a big time football program?
Posted on 1/3/10 at 6:51 pm to ATLTiger
can we just get rid of this douche already? he has got to be one of the worst OCs of all time. I am very optimistic about next years team, but if GC stays im gonna go ahead and buy my chick-fil-a bowl tickets

of course not

Qualified by perhaps a risk, especially given Miles position with the fan base.
If Miles can get this hire a home run, he really bring back the fan base, and get excited about next season...Lots of potential on this team the next couple of years...
I am ready for Prime time

yeah to be Monken and DJ all rolled into one! that passing game coordinator title really gave Todd that last push to take over for Jimbo didn't it?
Posted on 1/3/10 at 6:57 pm to Acreboy
how does it need further explaining?

quote:seriously every OC started from being a position coach. coaching and learning under Urban Meyer, you can't do much better than that.
how does it need further explaining?

Gonzalez coached under Urban Meyer for 8 years...right?
that's probably plenty of qualification..
Discipleship tree in the coaching fratunity is huge..
heck, plenty of coaches go coach with Saban just for their resumes to look better..
He ain't fun to work for

an Urban himself passed him over for the OC opening, which is why he's here.
Hell maybe he'll be a great OC. Who knows? This isn't the place for him to find that out. We don't have the time for him to cut his teeth.
Regardless just saying he's worked under Urban doesn't really mean you just hand him over an offense. Is that all you got?
