I heard it was going to be this guy

ETA: the guy in the blue with his hat on backwards is who I mean. Just so there is no confusion.

Way to just cherry pick my quote, it has nothing to do with him leaving...

You guys should consider hiring Gary Crowton. He led one of the best offenses in LSU history during the 2007 National Championship season.

your probably right then... if he has a good relationship w/ Jameis Winston then that might be the only incentive Saban needs.

Mal Moore likes Crowton, understands that it will not be a popular pick coming out of the box, but results will make believers. Seems to be willing to tak esome heat if Gary is willing to move quickly...

I don't even know why we want Jameis that bad. Dude is bound to go MLB, and isn't he a mobile QB? That doesn't exactly fit our offense.

not right now... but a new OC & the addition of JW would be enough for Saban to suggest a new package, maybe like a HB read similar to what AU did with Cam. Plus the guy has skills throwing the ball.

I think you're right and he's MLB bound. But either way, if the QB can throw the ball accurately, then being mobile is a huge bonus. If his BEST attribute is being mobile, he could end up a huge flop. JW is a great passer so I think he's the real deal.

Chances have decreased significantly compared to what it once was.

He's a QB with the ability to run, but he says he prefers to stay in the pocket. Like RG3, Steve Young, etc...

And you never know until you have someone of that caliber. Bama has told him he might play early in some situations, so they have something planned. They already have a few option, reads, and QB draws in the offense, and that's with McElwain.

No telling what the new OC will like to play around with...

He's definitely mobile. He could sit back and throw it 40 times a game and be successful at that too though. But if we have to hire Craig to get him, I'll pass.

I think Kenny "Snake" Stabler is available. Think about it:
He played for the Bear; he's in "the family".
He shares at least one of the Bear's fondnesses.
