Chryst would be a pretty short term hire. Hot names are always good so you can't limit yourself, but he's going to be a HC within the next season.

Don't be surprised if it is Groh.

i heard Rush Propst was up for the job
On a side note, that GA school he coaches now went from 3-9 to 11-3 in 1 year. Dude can coach.

He would be my second choice. I don't see us going for someone who has been a HC in the past though. Unless Saban is willing to be hands off with most of the playcalling on offense, which is a remote possibility at best.

No. Why would we hire a DC to coach offense? His son Mike is the WR coach at BAMA now.

Didn't Groh get fired by his own father?

you may be the most delusional gump on this board.

Blake Anderson would be good if he doesn't want to follow Fedora to UNC.

Paul Chryst. Doubt we could get him though
Why? McElwain was making over $100k more per year than Chryst is making at Wisc.

Well aware. I just think his offense is a perfect fit for our style. We are going to end up making a pretty underwhelming hire though. One of the position coaches will be promoted or we will hire a young guy from a small school who knows how to take orders.

Rumor has it he will coach in the NC Game, But who knows
Seems Like Saban is the type to tell him to get the F out.

I think we need him for this game, and I think he knows that too!
Posted on 12/12/11 at 9:56 pm to Roll Tide SDavis
Doubt very seriously that it will be Groh. Expect the hire to come from the NFL.

Jesus Christ, do you just flame just for the flaming sake? I have never once stated Mike Groh would do anything at Alabama. I've only stated I am willing to give the guy a chance, if Nick Saban actually hires him. Considering his track record there, I don't care if the guy has been fired from every job prior to Alabama. The point is, all of this is conjecture. We have no idea who will be hired.
