Anyone who knows Petrino's offense. A great QB coach should be a priority. Packers QB coach would be great.

I doubt the hire will "wow" like Chryst wld, but it will ne an NFL guy with a rep comparable to Sal Sunseri has on the D side who can recruit like Sal.

Agreed. The Saban boot camp is not the preferred destination of most elite coordinators. But it is a great opportunity for a young or inexperienced guy looking to work hard and be one step away from a HC job instead of two. For example, McElwain had only been the OC at Fresno for one year.

I get giddy in these types of situations. Not because I wanted McElwain gone, but because I enjoy the coaching carousel. Makes it even better when the former coach left on a good note, not in turmoil.
Did some brief research on the staffs of recently fired NFL HCs and the top 20 rushing offenses in the the NCAA, no one really stood out. Most were either spread guys, had ties to school or HC, or too "dignified" to take a collegiate OC position.

I don't know who it will be but I would guess it would be a younger coach, that is good at developing qb's and the casual fan won't be able to tell the difference between this years offense and next years.

top tier oc's dont want to be handcuffed. they've proven themselves. so i dont look for a top shelf guy. just hope we get a descent guy that recruits real well.

Dameyune Craig will be the OC. Really good QB coach, excellent recruiter and already worked with Saban in Miami.
