It was said that Austin leaving Lane was not taken well by Lane.

Hopefully the new baw doesn't traipse around on the sidelines with a headset on as if he's anything other than a glorified bagman.

I’m so tired of seeing this guy’s name at this point. Seems like a self important tool who has to overstate his own value to stay employed because he doesn’t actually do that much in reality

Our NIL efforts before and after Thomas are night and day.

As was Ole Miss'.

He's the biggest loss, by far, of our coaching cycle. He was damn good at his job.

(Side note: I'm not sure Lane actually has the authority to fire Austin Thomas.)

Based on what? In case you haven’t noticed, Ole Miss has a ton of talented players and are playoff bound while we suck and our roster sucks. I love how Baton Rouge people will ignore their own eyes if someone puts off enough of a self important douchebag vibe

Yeah he brought Glasscock from OM, this was assumed, unless AT moved to the Athletic Department as Verge’s sidekick or something, I figured he was gone.

Strongly disagree that our roster sucks, and you're putting on blinders. At a certain point, coaching matters. The talent is there on both sides of the ball, and frankly, the Underwood flip hurt more than people realized.

Austin's main job is getting, organizing, and allocating money. He's not solely or even primarily responsible for recruiting.

But even if he were, you're ignoring our vastly improved defense, including likely top 15 pick and transfer Delane.

He is listed in both departments, football and the athletic department. I think he is the only one like that, so I would not be surprised if he is retained there. Maybe to shepherd nil for the rest of the sports?
