This has nothing to do with Alleva and money. I have an ear pretty close to the ground on this one.
JV can step back in and be a solid replacement. Don't know if he would have any interest. Hell, didn't Keven Mawae apply for an admin job and get turned away a few years back.

The truth is Thomas could have went back to Tennessee at anytime over the last several yrs. I will let you connect the dots as to why now all of a sudden Thomas is ready to leave for Tennessee.
Over the last several yrs all of the so called insiders preached that Thomas came back to LSU after a yr at USC because he loved LSU and it was the place he felt most comfortable. They also said he would never leave LSU unless it was for a job in the NFL as his dream job is to become a GM in the NFL one day. You don't think O could pull some strings to get Thomas a raise if the only reason he is leaving is for money?
I wouldn't be surprised at all if Ponamsky soon gets a nice promotion

when our waiver expires next year, what's so irreplaceable about Thomas? he's a beast contacting recruits but he's losing that ability next year (i still have no idea how he was allowed to do it this year)
