This is the situation at Auburn now: top donors and university officials are so unhappy with the head football coach that they are seeking to undercut him by limiting assistants' contracts to single year deals. This is currently preventing AU from hiring Hugh Freeze as OC. /1

Freeze is reportedly seeking a multi-year deal from future employers. Sources said Malzahn has asked AU to wave the recent restriction on multi-year contracts in order to hire Freeze. AU response: Nah. /2

To be clear, I have no source that can say AU is Freeze's top choice. Only that Malzahn, in putting together an offer for Freeze, asked for the waiver. There seems to be better ways to run a football program. /F

Someone will lock up Freeze in the coming weeks.

Kingsbury, Freeze, Briles, Enos...so many big offensive names out there that have either already finalized new deals or are about to do so.

Meanwhile, LSU is just rolling along with Ensminger, pretending like our offensive output was perfectly fine this year.

So basically a 2014 LSU situation?

Miles had Aranda locked up a year earlier but wouldn’t sign due to the “miles clause” which basically meant nothing was guaranteed if Miles was let go within a year.

Then the 2015 A&M game happened and Alleva lost leverage and we were able to secure Aranda. Ultimately didn’t matter for Miles but certainly saved our program from plummeting by having Aranda on that side of the ball since then.

By our own standards, why would you think otherwise? LSU brass has shown time and again a competitive offense is simply not a priority in any capacity.

Ensminger is a symptom of that, not a cause of it.

Josh Moon is a museum grade arse hat so there's that.

With that said, this sounds just like some stupid shite the goat humpers would do.

Moon has some booster or admin has been letting off steam to him the last few weeks. Dude has been a political reporter and is all of a sudden broadcasting Auburn’s dirty laundry?

He used to be a "sports" writer for a newspaper. I used to love giving him shite every time he'd frick up basic stats or historical events in whatever he was writing about. He also used to have a little talk show that it took you about ten minutes of listening to and you could figure out he knew as much about sports as the average American did about brain surgery.

I say this as someone who could care less about any Auburn situation, but if you hired a head coach because he is an "offensive guru", then why are you hiring an OC that has the same pedigree. It sounds like a disaster waiting to happen to me. So im all for it.

Gus’ offense doesn’t work anymore. He’s admitted that at this point, so he’s going to get an OC that has an offense that still works
