The NCAA should just set up an extension office in Opelika.

fair enough. and it would make sense if yall can get freeze

I don't think we'll go for Freeze

It's one of those things that on paper I think you had to do it. Now that it's happened, you're rolling the dice and dealing w/ the risks.

But 7 straight years of 4 loss seasons. It's not like Auburn was quick on the trigger.

Seriously.....who are they gonna get? Freeze, meh. U have another Gus as I see it. Kiffin might talk but I don't know. I know this, I'm glad not to have to face that hoopty doo offense anymore. It was a bitch for Bama to stop.

Won 2x more than he lost. Won his last game. Auburn AD says he led with honor and integrity.

Fire the bum.

2020 strikes again.

Media's mad

quote:

Gus Malzahn's buyout is $21.45 million, per USA Today. It will be paid in full.

This is happening during a pandemic and while college athletic departments around the country face a massive financial crisis, one that's already resulted in layoffs, salary reductions and furloughs.

Are there any thoughts out there that AU fired him with someone already locked in to replace him? Wondering if Steel is a given to be retained?

Well it's not the media's job to direct Auburn's Athletic department, I"m pretty sure they're just taking a shot at the craziness of some of the SEC in regards to the mindset of football uber alles.

I mean, that's a crazy crazy buyout in just normal times. You hired the coach, see the contract through, it's not like he turned Auburn into Kansas (sorry Les) and it's not like Auburn is destination Texas.
