but what did Briles do?

In at least one case, Baylor regents said, Mr. Briles knew about an alleged incident and didn’t alert police, the school’s judicial-affairs staff or the Title IX office in charge of coordinating the school’s response to sexual violence.
This is from the INDEPENDENT law firm who conducted the investigation.

Baylor failed to take appropriate action to respond to reports of sexual assault and dating violence reportedly committed by football players. The choices made by football staff and athletics leadership, in some instances, posed a risk to campus safety an d the integrity of the University. In certain instances, including reports of a sexual assault by multiple football players, athletics and football personnel affirmatively chose not to report sexual violence and dating violence to an appropriate administr ator outside of athletics. In those instances, football coaches or staff met directly with a complainant and/or a parent of a complainant and did not report the misconduct. As a result, no action was taken to support complainants, fairly and impartially evaluate the conduct under Title IX, address identified cultural concerns within the football program, or protect campus safety once aware of a potential pattern of sexual violence by multiple football players. 10
I truly do not understand how anyone would be considering this guy.

Whats the deal with this guy?? Why so much love for him? Seems a couple rungs down the ladder to me...
Gets cut at NC State to wind up at Pitt....
Seriously man. Go research the guy. You guys are reading a wiki paragraph and dismissing him. Why does he seem a couple rungs down the ladder? Specifically tell me why he is not a great OC.
Posted on 12/5/16 at 1:35 pm to Chicken
Neither. Art is an obvious no. And I don't like the idea of taking a OC that was running someone else's system. Kind of reminds me of Crowton running Jimbo's offense in 2007.

So he had his personnel do it for him. Plausible deniability. Why don't you read about all of his personell involved in this. So he is either too stupid to figure out what's happening in his own program or he willfully ignored it while letting his staff handle it. What a great guy!

My stance is that its not the football coaches job to be a message relayer btw accuser and authorities.... Why is the accuser relying on Briles to do smthg in the first place??? Go to authorities like maybe if it WASNT a football player. Just a thought.

Briles' involvement aside, who the hell are these people that don't report rape to the police, but instead go to the football coach?
Why is it up to a coach whether sexual assault makes it to the authorities or not?

Wow...
1) you're wrong. It IS most definitely on the coach to report it. If you would have read the fact finding report you would know this. THAT'S WHY THEY ARE IN THIS MESS! They didn't report it ffs.
2) victim blame. Seems par for the course for Briles supporters.
3) they DID go to the police and the police pushed the reports down as well.

We can spend around 2.2 million for our OC, make Kendall the OC and let dad work with him. Get both

Jfc, you people are sad. Actually read reports, interviews, and do some research before blaming victims.
LINK
I mean how is any of this the victims fault. They reported it and it was not handled properly. Period. One victim was a female athlete so there's motivation to report it to your coach, which she did. Then from there it was pushed down and nothing was done.
Seriously...are you trying to put blame on a rape victim for the Baylor personnel problems? This is getting fricking sad.

No, I'm not. Just saying it shouldnt have been reported to a football coach first. Thats common sense I'd think. Theres just as many false rape allegations as actual rapes these days so you want Briles to automatically jump on board ruining one of his kids lives if he has zero proof presented to him...???? Thats not his job or place. If some girl calls you or sends an email or smthg and says 'your son raped me...do something about it." Speaking for me I'm not doing a damn thing until you show me some kind of proof.
Not saying its victims fault, but I find it hard to totally berate Briles when hes put in a difficult situation with not much to go on, with so much at stake.
By the way, Jameis Winston is suing the girl that falsely accused him of rape...... and I freaking really dislike Jameis. You cant take everything to the bank nowadays
Obviously, if it was indeed rape, thats awful and Briles paid the price. But youre acting as if he was in the room and was throwing hush money at them or smthg.

So when it's your daughter and she says she was raped your gonna say well nothing we can do about it unless you show me some proof. Sorry sweetheart looks like you're a liar.

Dude...are you not reading anything i posted here or the links provided? It is ONE HUNDRED PERCENT his job and place to report it. THIS IS WHY BAYLOR IS IN THE shite RIGHT NOW! DO YOU UNDERSTAND THE TEXT YOU ARE READING???

Lmao. You're sad. Yes you are blaming the victim and he had plenty to go on. Enough that these players are going to fricking jail.

Briles, Baylor, and the AD ALL mishandled the situation. I mean are you just making shite up as you go here? It's a bit hard to take you seriously when you have obviously done zero reading on anything that has happened.
Your whole premise is "Girl may not be raped. Girls lie. Coach no need report rape. Girl should report rape to police."
All of this shite is wrong and made up. READ THE DOCUMENTS.

This, and I'm not excusing Briles, but how do you not go to the police?

I'm reading it. I'm saying Briles shouldnt have been put in position to do what they wanted him to do. Unless he was presented the full docket before the police were (which is impossible) then youre asking him to be judge & jury with zero proof.
He ultimately made the wrong call, but it cant be held against him for forever. He wasnt there and hes being asked to turn on his kids with no proof. You sit behind your computer screen all righteous but youre not understanding the position he was put in.
Like I said, he made the wrong call and he's paid for it. But dont act like hes the devils spawn for lack of action with lack of proof
