This is what happens when you hire a coach who has a totally different system than what you have on the roster and fire him after just a year and a half. Any fast rising HC is gong to look at how Pig pulled the chord on Morris and say "frick that noise". Shut the frick up. Seriously, shut the frick up with this. He went 4-18 while getting blown out by G5 teams. Shut the frick up.

How is that search going? What’s that? No one wants the job?

Don’t say we didn’t tell you so.

Arkansas was going through a complete roster transition. You were making a move to offensive philosophies that were polar opposite of each other. And then you fired the new coach less than two years into that transition because the results didn’t happen quick enough.

All he had to do was show some type of improvement in year 2. The team got worse, 3 wins would have most likely saved him against a very easy OOC schedule. It is very easy for fan bases outside of Arkansas to judge this when they were not the ones going through it.

Are you the poster that was a big backer of Chad when we hired him? This would explain alot.

Just tired of people talking about how we should have given Morris more time. I've tried actually discussing it, but at this point I'm done. If you seriously think we should have given him more time, then you need to shut the frick up. If that makes you think I'm a kid, fine.

Yes but I would feel the same with any HC fired in a season and a half who was hired to do a full rebuild. He didn't crash a team that was riding high. He took over a pile of shite, was told he would have the time to do a rip off the band aid style overhaul with a massive offensive philosophical change, and then didn't even get a full recruiting cycle to get his own guys in. Again, you flat out can not change the culture or do such a radical offensive shift in less than two full seasons when you are starting at such a low point.

You expect to see improvement by year 2. We saw regression. Yes he didn't take over a good situation, but he made it worse. We had won 7 games in 2016, just two years before he got there. A good coach would have done far, far, far better than Morris.

Low talent and a full on philosophy change takes time to work out.

Tyson Helton in his FIRST YEAR blew out Morris while having significantly less talent. His players hated him. His recruiting class went from #23 to #50 and we probably would have had several transfers. And the schedule gets even tougher next year. The writing was on the wall and I guess everyone but you could see it.

If you had a coach who was staying with Bert's system sure. You could have maybe done better. But you didn't. You hired a guy who had a completely different system and didn't give him time to get in players who fit that system. I'm not sure why this is so difficult to understand.

Don't hire a coach who does everything completely differently on offense to do a full rebuild if you aren't willing to deal with the pain of a full rebuild.

This is really easy to say as it isn't your school.

No one asked him to do some radical change. He was asked not to lose to a G5 school in the last part of year 2 at home by 5 TDs when the QB that you let go and told to move on was leading the charge against you. Some on here act like we were showing any glimmer of hope. We got worst as the year went on, the players were giving up on him. We have multiple reports that the team was divided at best on him, if not more.

I'm not sure what's so hard to understand about the fact that changing systems doesn't excuse getting blown out by G5 teams and going 4-18.

Most of the offensive starters were his.

Morris is not a defensive guy either so him getting "his players in" wouldn't stop us from giving up 640 total yards to Mississippi State. People ignore that Chavis was just as much of a problem as the offense.

should have kept Morris. I would be physically ill if Harsin is the best I could do.

Hate to agree with the Arkansas fans but you can’t sell a coach to a fan base when that coach is 0-14 in SEC games. If Morris had shown any improvement, then, yes, he should have stayed. But if you’re getting worse instead of better at the end of year 2, you’re not going to get it done.

Arkansas lost by 26 at home to a Conference USA team. It lost at home to San Jose State, which went 5-7 and is traditionally one of the worst programs in the FBS. Arkansas nearly lost at home to Portland State You can’t possibly justify keeping Morris based on these results combined with an 0-14 record in the conference.

Morris is one of the worst coaches on sec history. In 2 years You should accidentally win at least one game in conference play.
