I think a younger coach is the way to go.

Lazy and cheap, go hand in hand.

I'm actually with them. They missed on every target to land on him. Massive failure.

I thought they had an amazing hire with Golesh, but I wonder what fell through on that.

Maybe. I think if he gets some $ to work with, Arky might be surprised.

Honestly, Arkansas should rejoin the Big 12. They could do well in that conference and have a shot at the playoffs every year.

Silverfield is a good coach. Arkansas did well in this cycle, especially considering how brutal the market is this season.

Said he wasn't interested right off the bat. He is well compensated & has a $6MM buyout which I doubt anyone wants to pay.

He can win 10 games in Vegas each year in that conference, and when he wants to leave he isn't going back to a bottom feeder.

Damn I kind of thought that was a good hire for them. I mean… it’s not like he’s been coaching High School or the OLine…

A&M fans revolted against the hire of Mark Stoops in 2023 and it worked. Interesting to see how things shake out in Arkyville.

Arky boosters (and fans?) will be forever wanting Petrino offenses that produced a couple of W's against LSU but would never win their division.

That is their dream. A great offense, shitty recruiting, and a defense that will never take them to the SECCG (or, now, CFP-12).

Anyone that they think will replicate Petrino's offense of that era will be their shiny object.

BUT, that's not who they got. What they got was a OL specialist who relied on his OC (who's not that good anyway). I wouldn't have objected to Silverfield on LSU's staff.... as OL coach or OL consultant that is.

in all honesty, it does sound like a SNL skit character.

Never forget that R-Kansas is the France of the football field. All their glory days are behind them and they riot/protest at the drop of a hat.
