I like the hire. He's the guy I initially wanted the Cajuns to hire when we fired Bustle. Sun Belt is going to have some solid coaches next year.

I can't ground this in anything, just kind of a gut feeling, but I feel like the past 2, maybe 3 years the Sun Belt has been a source of solid up-and-coming coaches.
I could look up names to corroborate that statement, but...meh

The article hinted that Applewhite will get promoted to Harsin's spot.
I don't think Harsin will be able to leave after just 1 year at stAte. He's still very young so I doubt a big time school will come calling after one year, plus Ryan Aplin is finally graduating so they'll look a lot different next season.
As far as Sun Belt coaches: Hugh Freeze, Gus Malzahn, Willie Taggart, Mark Hudspeth, Mario Cristobal all either got serious inquiries from big schools or left for bigger schools.
Next year you'll have Petrino, Hudspeth, and Harsin fighting it out.
FIU is leaving the Sun Belt but this made me think of them, did they ever hire a coach?

Last thing I saw was a blurb about them looking at Randy Shannon.

I agree. That was stupid then and even dumber looking back, because they still don't have a replacement. If you're going to fire the most successful coach in your program's history, you better make sure you have a replacement.

With Harsin taking ASU job, Major Applewhite will be play-calling OC, and Darrell Wyatt is promoted to co-offensive coordinator.

We are mired in 8-4 seasons and thrashings to OU and K-state until Mack and his yes men leave. I'm resigned to that.
