If those are your two choices who do you pick and why

These guys are not in the same stratosphere. Two guess as to the one who doesn’t belong

I’d be good with either. I think they are both very similar with one being an offensive minded coach and the other being defensive minded.
I lean Napier as I think he has a real skill for developing the whole program. Aranda may have the same skill but Napier has built an impressive program at a place that has traditionally been a cluster F

Aranda no doubt. Already proven he can win in the P5 at coordinator and HC level. Napier making the jump from the sun belt to sec is too much of a risk

Be good with either. But I like the fact that Napier calls his own plays along with an actual identity on offense. You can say the same with Aranda on the defensive side
But lord link up Aranda with an innovative OC like Briles or Lebby…

Cool! Where is ULL? I'm guessing you're just a Napier homer who is offended I didn't say Napier but if you think Napier is less of a risk than Aranda I'm glad you're not in charge of the hire.
2 things:
1) I never said there's no risk with Aranda. The question was Aranda or Napier. I said Aranda had less risk as he has already proven he can win in the P5 as both coordinator and HC making him less risky than Napier.
2) I'm tired of this narrative that Aranda can't recruit. Go look at his top recruits from his time at LSU. He would do fine. Maybe not the best but he knows how to run a program and fill in the gaps so I am sure he would get some good recruiters on staff. He already has Grimes as his OC who knows LSU and could recruit this area easily.
ETA: also Baylor wasn't inside the top 25 recruiting classes when Rhule was there either so by your logic he's too risky to hire too I guess.

I’d be good with either but I’ll take Napier. Excellent recruiter (the guy loves recruiting) Saban disciple, who has adopted and mimics his organizational skills. This guy is gonna win big time somewhere in P5 and we will regret not grabbing him up.

Aranda
He’s a proven defensive coordinator and he’s been successful against a better competition.

Replace Saban with Meyer and the exact same thing was said about Herman. The truth is some of these guys just don't do well making the jump from these sun belt and lower level conferences to the big times. I'm not saying he would definitely fail I am just saying I don't think Woody will take that risk if it comes down to it. Could be wrong though

"Impressive program" coach who has yet to win the......Sun Belt. With an average of 17,000 screaming fans in attendance.

He has won the Sunbelt Conference. Last year they were co champions with Coastal Carolina

26k vs Nicholls (Saturday)
17k vs Ohio (Thursday)
20k vs App St (Tuesday)
28k vs Texas St (Saturday)
That’s slightly higher thank 17k. If every game was a Saturday game then we’d be closer to 28-30k.

Aranda. He has such a high football IQ. With the LSU talent that is attracted to the program, he would thrive.
