Keep in mind that Aranda/Baylor is a western Petri dish for one possible future of LSU football.
If Aranda has sustained success at Baylor, there’s an awfully good chance he will be LSU’s next head coach after Orgeron.
It’ll be interesting to see how Aranda does at Baylor. I’m not as interested in the 2020-21 Baylor team as I am in the 2022-25 Baylor teams under Aranda.
LSU now has a farm system in Waco.

You could be right, lost most of the defense and have all of the tougher conference games on the road this coming season. (OU, UT, WV, ISU). Beat Ole Miss in the opener in Houston and I’d guess 8 win season.

First, it was 2 coaches and 2 analyst. Dennis Johnson was not one of the 10 on field coaches anymore.
Secondly, Aranda had to hire or decide to retain 10 coaches while LSU only had to hire 2 coaches. So quick math will tell you that even tho Aranda has hired 4 guys he still needs to hire, or retain from previous staff, 6 coaches while LSU still only needs to hire 2 coaches.
Do you not get the sense of urgency from Aranda now?
Do you not get why O can decide to focus on recruiting since he is behind other teams out there because he was busy winning a national championship?

Too be fair, in that search we had an opening in September, so the no due diligence thing had nothing to do with time, more to do with an incompetent Athletic department

I think 5 to 7 is a reasonable guess. Still huge questions about the O line. Losing 9 defensive starters. Implementing new schemes. Could be a tough year.

Coach O is taking advantage of the extra visits. He could have had a coach day 1 if he wanted to.
