If he comes here and helps bring our defense back to the top(maybe compete for a title/CFP) I don’t care if it’s only one year either. I’d like 2-3 years but that’s just not going to happen with Freeman.

My reply was to the dip sh** that said I was out of touch and thought I was saying we couldn’t land him. I absolutely think we can land him. Never once said we couldn’t land him.

gave O an unnecessarily massive raise (he'd still happily be the HC at LSU for $2 million less with no risk whatsoever of him leaving)

This is fricking retarded. O earned every bit of that money. Not giving him the market rate would have been suicide to Woodward.

Bears aren’t going fire their head coach, they made the playoffs dumbass.

Mike Mularkey guided the Titans to their first playoff in almost a decade in 2017, beat KC in the wild card round for first playoff victory since 2003 and still got fired. Dumbass.

I wouldn’t touch LSU until the Title IX stuff clears out.

Some of you should never sit at a negotiation table. Good grief.

First of all, Bo Pelini’s salary last year(2.3 mil) was more than all but 3 coaching jobs outside the power 5.

Again, I repeat if LSU wants Freeman there is high probability we get him but we have to offer him.

Will that be your excuse when he doesn't sign with LSU?

There is a big positive to taking the LSU DC job though and that’s playing against the big boys while also turning around a defense that was horrible last year. If he’s not getting the offers he wants this off-season he’d certainly get them next year if he does well. It’ll just be one more big star on his resume.

He will come to LSU. More money and exposure. Aranda landed a baylor job. Cinci might be horrible next year so he better take the huge offer quick while his stock is high. We have the athletes, money, spot light, a recent title, NFL pipeline. He would be stupid not to take our offer

I hope so because the alternative with Richard is awful.

Not no chance, but unlikely. Would love to be wrong & will hold out hope until we hear.

If he is such a stud why don’t Texas go after him? Vandy had a worse defense than LSU. Hell no we don’t want him.

Bo Pelini did not and will not get his full buyout. He and LSU settled on an amount far below what was left remaining. That has been established and documented on several places.

I think the only way LSU gets him is if they go big and by go big I mean pay him more than any DC in NCAA. We're talking 3 million+ and I don't think that's happening. You have to make it hard for him to say no because he could wait around here in just a few weeks a few HC jobs might actually open up. There's a domino effect in the NFL depending on the hires that could promote see him as HC somewhere too in NCAA. Only way we getting him is if we put a blank check on the table and ask him what he wants.

You do realize he’s a coordinator at a G5 school, right?

Name three coaches who jumped straight from G5 coordinator to P5 head coach or NFL coordinator. It doesn’t happen.

Not unless Fickell leaves and he becomes the head coach.
