Money talks but it seems like a big, big risk with Aranda on the cusp of the next step up the ladder. Chavis was not only a different set of circumstances, dude is a cfb DC lifer.

LOL. I hope they get him. He deserves to work for someone better than Coach Gumbo

Aranda is the only person I would expect LSU to get in a bidding war over, and even "overpay" for in order to keep him around. Even Alleva knows who's keeping this ship afloat.

Worst case scenario lsu just ponies up more

If they want to spend 3 million on a DC I say let him go. He won’t be around long enough to build a defense there that can beat us.

LSU is the joke of the SEC now. It’s a sinking ship with King and alleva and coach 0. Aranda knows it. Inside coaching circles know it. This fall down has been way worse and faster than most expected.

A&M should offer him 1 dollar more than what O makes.

F King and Alleva are too concerned about optics and politics to win a bidding war for a coach. Sad but true.

That’s stupid, short sighted and counterintuitive.
No good is served by wishing for failure. You’re basically saying you want LSU to win only if Orgeron is not the head coach.

Orgeron would surely hire a great replacement, I’m not even worried.

Smart move. They either get a great coordinator with their unlimited money or they force LSU to pay him more which likely means less for a new OC or Raymond etc.

Aggy's favorite past time is getting humiliated by LSU, so of course they're going this route.

Hopefully, Aranda is smart enough that not even he can remedy the soft culture of TX football.

If he's making 3 million a year where is he going to go? Not to the NFL where even the most experienced DCs only make a little more than half that.

HC as a p5 school would basically be the only move for him.
