After tonight, I’m convinced that QB development is paramount for the new hire

I’ve been a supporter of Aranda and Tucker and Napier among others

But CFB has turned into the NFL- QB, QB, QB

Not saying a defensive minded coach can’t prioritize the position, but man a guy like Day or Riley or even Kiffin or Jimbo, who I’m not the biggest fan of, are the guys we need.

I agree, a true QB whisperer... only thing is I don't put Jimbo into that category.

Kiffin is way too volatile. He pouts like a teenager on the sideline and let’s emotion completely take over. Not really someone you want running a major program in my opinion. I agree with your overall idea here though. We definitely need someone who can recruit and develop quarterbacks at a high level, but that doesn’t necessarily have to be the head coach.

I think Calzada sucks and Jimbo has made him serviceable

Kiffin and Jimbo are not necessarily my guys, but we need someone in their mold

I’ve posted this over and over, but how many years have we heard LSU is a QB away?

The only thing stopping LSU from becoming the next great dynasty is consistent elite production from the QB position.

It’s so obvious it isn’t even funny. Everything else is practically built in ready for success.

Joe Burrow showed what this program could be, no excuse for a supposed kingmaker like Woodward not doing everything he can to make that the new normal in Baton Rouge.

Yeah, I agree on that point -- Jimbo just overall strikes me as very, very expensive "meh."

I’ve never been impressed enough with Napier, Aranda or Tucker to want them. All may be good coaches, but they’re not next level guys.

I’ll take any of the others you mentioned and be thrilled.

I feel like the majority of people want an offensive coach.

Aranda is nice but look what happened last year with the wrong oc hire.

With what QB?

Peetz is hot garbage, but Max doesn’t it make it any easier.

Probably.

Kiffin can get those easy yards after being a coordinator for years.

Max is very limited but peetz does him absolutely no favors.

Either way i can't wait to get a real coach on the job.

Urban Myer knows how to run a program. I think there's a possibility Rhule would come back to college for the monster of LSU football and he's run a big time program before. Petersen is the wild card. He's proven and has run big programs before at Boise and Washington..... I think Scott overall is looking for a proven program runner. It's so much more than just coaching. Its holding the program. A giant LSU operations plant. LSU football is a huge business. We need the best all around coach that we can find.

It is why I am desperate for a QB guru HC.

If not then he needs to be a Saban as a recruiter and stack elite QBs.

Absolutely infuriating QB play tonight.

Exactly. I don't know why people are pumping Mel Tucker, who doesn't even field good defense. Aranda at least has a highly rated QB committed.

I am begging for a coach that stacks elite QBs on top of elite QBs.. and if one struggles in a game the coach is not afraid to play the next!

We need a Kiffin guru offensively but not the Kiffin that is an emotional train wreck. I'd say Riley is the guy we need, along with a defensive guru.

Agree with this. Wonder how Jeff Brohm fits that bill?

Post-Jameis Jimbo has only been able to produce mediocre-serviceable QBs. That's a very large sample size over 2 schools.

Jimbo ain't a QB guru in modern CFB
