And it was a bad 15-34. The games the last 2 seasons were like going to the circus, just waiting to see what kind of insanely horrendous shite CJ would pull next. Also Willie Fritz has outrecruited Curtis considerably every single season except his first. Go check the yearly rankings. CJ is a WR coach and that’s it.

I would only take Johnson as a recruiter and WR coach NOT a PGC.
"Passing Game Coordinator" is a position we never heard of until this year.

Again, the key to this offense is aggressive playcalling, and elite WRs.
Burrow's passes mean nothing if Chase and Jefferson don't catch 99% of the balls that they can touch. He would have had a lot higher completion percentage in 2018 without the drops.

Bring in Johnson to continue developing the WRs, and as you point out, recruiting them. Give him another title if that's what it takes to entice him to join.

If you're worried about the playbook, ... don't. There are any number of lower to mid level colleges that run "pass happy" offenses, LSU didn't have some magical plays. They had 3 WRs that caught the ball even while being covered decently, which heavily stressed the other team's defense.

It’s not a secret that Kevin Faulk is the rb coach in waiting. We’re not breaking new ground here

2010-2011 Billy gonzales was our wr coach and passing game coordinator. That was the first time i had heard of it.

That’s not true.

We already had a negative connotation associated with that title due to the guy who came from Florida who had worked with Harvin. Gonzales?

Jerry Sullivan was the PGC two years ago, but obviously didn't have the input as Brady.

Brady basically changed the entire offensive philosophy that Sullivan and E came up with.

I don't think so. I think it's more accurate to say that Brady came in and showed them how to do it. And, he was fearless in his approach which the team took to. I guarantee you that it opened the eyes of the existing staff because they never would have had the balls to try it. They certainly didn't have the experience to trust in it, or to effectively implement it without him.

Made his name by getting Marshall Faulk to San Diego State a very long time ago when Payton was the RB Coach for SDSU.

The Saints are gonna REALLY hate LSU if they didn’t already.

What are they going to do.....not draft LSU players?

But you're not winning games with Curtis Johnson coordinating any aspect of the offense.

Munoz to QB recruit’s parents: “ I’m the guy Joe Burrow mentioned multiple times as playing a huge part in his winning the Heisman.”

We got plenty of recruiters. At some point you need good on field coaches as well.

To be fair Willie Fritz has outrecruited CJ consistently at Tulane with the exception of his 1st season. Go check the rankings. CJ has been living off of Ed Reed, Marshall Faulk and Reggie Wayne for 20 years.

Well he wasn't recruiting anybody for most of those 20 years because he was in the NFL.

I disagree

We changed a lot of things

The biggest Philosophy wise is how we deal with pass rush.

Last year we would leave in a TE and RB to block. Thinking more blockers=more protection. And we’d run a screen on 3rd and long. (Predictably)

This year when teams tried to pass rush we gave joe at least 5 options and at least always a safety valve option.

That’s just Old School vs New School mentality.
