I think what we learned with LSU hiring BK is that money talks and opportunities that are deemed special mean a lot. Their first call should be to Lincoln Nebraska and they should make Rhule say no. Offer all the money in the world (which they will do to anyone). He is very familiar with Texas, still only 48 years old and would be a hell of a get for A&M.

I wish that would happen but it probably won't . I'd also like to see Willie Fritz get interviewed. Fritz has a solid resume. He's also coached at Blinn JC and SHSU, which are both very close to A&M.

From 1993 to 1996, Fritz was head coach at Blinn College.[3] He turned around a program that had gone 5–24–1 in its three previous seasons, producing a 39–5–1 record.[4] Willie Fritz led the team to two national junior college championships, in 1995 and 1996.[4] For his efforts at Blinn, Fritz has been inducted into the NJCAA Hall of Fame

Fritz became the 14th head football coach at Sam Houston State University on December 18, 2010.[5] During the 2011 season, his second year at Sam Houston State, Fritz coached the Bearkats to the FCS's only undefeated regular season and into the FCS playoffs. He coached the Bearkats to back-to-back national title game appearances in 2011 and 2012 in only three years of being head coach at Sam Houston State.

Jesus, they’re not going to pay the $70 million remaining on Rhule’s contract, plus a salary for him, plus staff, plus what you’re paying Fisher.

I don't think that is exactly how coaches get bought out of their contract when they go from one school to another. That is how they get bought out of their job when they are fired. It is my understanding that the 2 schools would negotiate a price for him to be bought out. I could be wrong but there is no way it would be $70 million.

It depends on the buyout clause. Some contracts have buyout clauses, and some don’t.

It depends and I haven’t actually looked at Rhule’s contract, so I shouldn’t say it as fact.

Point is, this tab is going to run up really fast for Texas am

Urban has 2 since 2018 but everyone is saying he's the first phone call that should be made. What's you're point?

Very good coach but he's in his mid to late 60's, not sure he would want that move at this point.

He's 63.

If Georgia Tech boosters had been able to keep their mouths shut last year he would be there right now.

Rhule's buyout is only $7mil if he leaves for another school.
drops to $6mil after Dec. 31
