Dan, great work...some of the numbering on your candidates are off, though...

Yeah, I had to delete a bunch of guys that were hired, I'm in the process of updating the list with proper candidates and then I'll fix the numbering.

Replace Crowton and "his" gimmicky spread offense with more of a pro-style offense that Miles wants to run and becomes more of a CEO style head coach. He needs to bring in people he can trust. I would love for him to "get the band back together" by bringing back Monken and Henson.

The offense needs to return to more of a Pro-Style system. More like we saw in the Cotton Bowl . . .
1) Steve Logan (good QB coach, rumors were going around that he was the front-runner if he replaced Crowton last year)

2) Todd Monken (IMO, the best position coach LSU has had in a long time. Miles trusts him. Was heavily involved in all of Miles successful offenses in the past. Was heavily, heavily involved in the success of the offense at the end of the 2006 season, he was basically running the offense. Miles should have promoted him instead of hiring Crowton.)

3) Mark Whipple (now available, good friends with Ruffin Rodrigue)
4) Steve Kragthorpe (good qb coach)
5) Greg Knapp
6) Rob Chudzinski
7) Clint Conque

OLINE COACH
Here is my list:

1) Art Kehoe (regarded as a o-line coaching guru)
2) Josh Henson (bring back the right-hand-man, clock manager, good recruiter)
3) Pete Mangurian (LSU alumni, former LSU coach, tons of NFL experience)
4) Tony Wise (lots of NFL and college experience)
5) Blake Miller (former LSU player, has some college experience now)
6) Chris Truax (former LSU player, college experience, recruiting coordinator)
6) Ben Wilkerson (promote him)

4) Paul Chryst, OC, Wisconsin

Chryst is another rising star in the industry and produced a daunted three headed rushing attack at Wisconsin this season. He doubles as the QB coach and has produced impressive results from guys that aren't exactly household talents. He's hopped around a bit in his career, but he is a Wisconsin alum, which may make him a tough pull. He was rumored to be taking the Texas OC vacancy, but they wound up hiring Bryan Harsin from Boise State. Would he leave the Badgers for a similar type of OC position?

Positives
-QB coach with proven results
-Power rushing/Pro style system

Negatives
-May not leave Wisconsin

1 vote for this guy. Love his offense with our personel.

Miller's apparently going from OL coach at Utah to OL coach at Memphis as of yesterday, per the rumor mill at various websites.

I doubt he'd pass up a chance to come back to LSU, but I would have to question why there are stories out there saying he is going from a program about to enter the Pac Ten to a bad C-USA program.

David Yost

"Solid candidate" is an understatement. This is one of the best coordinators in college football...and he is obtainable.

He has been the Mizzou OC for 10 years with Pinkel, so he should be ready to move on. He'll likely be a head coach soon, even if he doesn't make a move.

His resume with QBs?

2) Chase Daniels

AND he recruits Texas.

This could be one of those "Coach In Waiting" type of hires.

Mike Leach said on Rivals radio yesterday that if the right situation came up he would consider an OC position. How much of a better situation than a loaded team ready to win a NC NOW.

I give you Dan Hawkins, failed Colorado Head Coach, uber-successful Boise state coach. He's looking for work and has OC experience, especially when, from 1988-91, Hawkins was the offensive coordinator at the College of the Siskiyous (Calif.), helping lead the team to the Golden Valley Conference championship in 1991.

You can't argue with that.
If it's good enough for the Golden Valley Conference it's good enough for the SEC.
End search/End thread/.
