You know, those victories over big name teams were about the only thing Hallman accomplished at SMiss. He had one good year and the rest were really mediocre. I can't for the life of me understand what they were thinking when they hired him. I believe that he had a "Bear" Bryant lineage but besides that, I'm stumped. There must have not been any other coaches available.
I know we passed on Steve Spurrier and hired Archer, but Spurrier probably would have left for Florida eventually anyway.
