So if we are saying no to all of those guys up top, and jimbo and Herman say no to us, and we ALL don't want shaw, what now?!

Give me Coach O before Shaw. This is a "play not to lose" coach and I can't deal with that again.

Herman please. He's one of the smartest offensive coaches out there

His OC Major Applejuice has a little bit to do with it.

For the record, I'm all in for Herman.

Fisher would be different from Miles but at the end of the season I dont see our record improving much.

look we're going to have losses regardless, nature of the beast in the SEC.

I'd say we're on much better competitive footing with jimbo than Les, it isn't really debatable.

This guy would be Trent Johnson part II. Good coach at a private school on the west coast. He would not be a fit at LSU and/or Louisiana. Far different recruits and culture.

Yeah i'm definitely not on board with Shaw. His offense is so freaking boring, as is he.

throw more money to Shaw. They are high on Shaw. Has some Texas ties.

This would be just an absolutely terrible hire. What "ties" does he have in Texas? He has either been in Cali or the far northeast.

Doesnt seem like he would fit the culture, hasnt recruited in the southeast, knows nothing about the SEC, and runs the same offense Les did.

No better pedigree/resume than what we just got rid of. I dont get it at all.

The good thing is that I don't really see Shaw leaving. He's at his Alma mater, making good money, and owning the Pac 12. Sure we could offer more money, but he's got it made out there.

Anyone care to tell me how good of a recruiter Les Miles was before he got to LSU? I feel confidant in saying that LSU made Les Miles a great recruiter and not the other way around.

As for doomsday scenarios we could do way worse than Mullen but its still Herm/Jimbo at the top. I'm open to O as a third tier fallback, rather take a chance with him then a flier on a guy that might be a poor fit.

Care to elaborate on this? Is this just speculation on your part, or have you heard something that would suggest that the "ship might have sailed"?

I "hate" you sumbitches, but you are right on about this. People aren't walking around the Alabama Wal-Marts ringing their hands about the next LSU coach.

Patterson - is not leaving TCU. People need to give up on this idea.

Kiffin - huge character flaws and has failed as a head coach several times. good play caller but LSU isn't hiring a coordinator from alabama as their HC.

Fedora - has had some success in the ACC but would be an underwhelming hire

Mullen - the SEC has an unwritten rule of hiring away SEC coaches from other SEC schools, especially in the same division. Not happening or realistic.

Briles - I guess people just look at his offense at baylor and nothing else. they don't understand why he's available currently and why he was fired from baylor. He is TOXIC and no school's AD is going to hire a 60 year old coach who helped cover up a blatant rape culture. It's absolutely laughable that anyone brings up his name for a potential coach at LSU. He's too old and would be a PR nightmare.

Petrino - huge character flaws. his motorcycle incident revealing a scandal of him hiring a state employee so he could bang her is pretty much a black list offense for the SEC. He's a great offensive mind but a total piece of shite. He also has a 10 million dollar buyout from louisville from what I read. Not happening.

Fisher - I believe the ship has sailed on fisher. He has a special needs child and with a messy divorce I don't see him leaving tallahassee to move to baton rouge. lot of family issues that wouldn't make sense for him to make the move. not to mention he would want "saban money" to make the move. so 7 million+ a year is what he would be looking for.

Herman - would be the home run hire and should be the coach that alleva doesn't take no for answer with. He's a mensa member who has ties to aranda (former college roommates) and is a QB guru. Took cardale jones (3rd string QB) and beat alabama with him and won the NC) He is 41 years old and learned from urban meyer while at ohio state. He has texas recruiting connections. so that is a huge plus. The offense he runs meshes well with the offenses of the louisiana football high school teams. Tom Herman checks every box and then some. He is beating teams with talent that doesn't come close in terms of recruiting rankings. He beat the brakes off of Jimbo Fisher in the bowl game last season and Bob Stoops this year. He's the coach who would bring in a culture of excellence and the process much like nick saban has done with LSU 16 years ago and since 2007 at bama. I believe he's making 3 million a year at Houston. If LSU pays him 5 million a year with incentives and pays his assistants what current LSU assistants are making now, I don't see how Alleva doesn't get him to Baton Rouge.
