Can we please stop arguing about this done deal bullshite from last year? If you choose not to believe posters claiming to have sources then that's fine, but for fricks sake stop ruining every thread try to discredit someone because they said Jimbo was a done deal last year. If you don't believe a poster has credible information then don't read it or ignore it.

This is the coaching changes board, and we aren't going to hire a coach for two months. I think you may be setting the bar a bit high for the quality of discussion that's going to go on here.

Maybe so. I can only take so many posts arguing over the meaning of "done deal."

Somebody start another rumor so we can argue about something else for a little while.

So it was a non-binding agreement in principle, not a done deal.

Glad we could clear that up.

Not saying that they needed a signed contract, but like with Jimbo, that was their first pick. They should've gauged interest beforehand, just my opinion.

Yeah, that's not happening.. We may have a record crowd tomorrow night, and most certainly will if we don't lose again before Bama comes to town..

What you call semantics I call the difference between a signature on paper and a handshake agreement. The difference is Jimbo sitting in BR vs Tallahassee right now.

The people who are using the phrase "done deal" are giving you the party line from biased sources. I'm sure plenty of UT people still talk about how Saban was a done deal. We are about to be dealing with this exactly thing again and I for one am not going to waste my time listening to someone who thinks just cause a coach gives you a dollar figure and says he'll come that it's "done". It's not over until pen meets paper and the check is cashed.

They gauged interest last November.

Not my first choice, but I think Shaw would be a perfect fit. LSU fans have been traumatized by the offense. The idea of anything similar would be a huge letdown.

I just don't see him leaving Stanford. I'm not that worried about recruiting. Shaw has more experience recruiting Louisiana than Herman. They've pulled several kids out of the state recently.

Good... Herman or BUST for me.
same. anyone else would be disappointing. Fisher would be different from Miles but at the end of the season I dont see our record improving much.

1 maybe 2 will get an interview possibly

Things can always change but I'm slightly surprised by Mullen. I thought he'd be one of the stronger fall back options should Jimbo/Herman/Shaw fall through.

So, is Random LSU Hero a "known commodity" on these topics like belowpar and DALSU? I've not kept up, apparently.

Last I heard, they would then be in panic mode and throw more money to Shaw. They are high on Shaw. Has some Texas ties. Recuits well to a school that has high academic standards. And he is a VERY LOW... How should I put it..... Umm scandal risk.

Hell no to Shaw. No more boring arse pro style offense. At least with a guy like Jimbo his pro style isn't out of the 70s, but I really don't want pro style TBH.

LSU needs a guy that can take spread QBs from Louisiana and Texas, and beat the f**k out of Bama. Since the 9-6 game where they missed like 5 FGs, Saban hasn't lost to a pro style offense. Saban has lost to, however, several different forms of spread.

This. It's obvious that LA recruiting is not well suited to generate excellent pocket passers. SO let's play to our strengths.
