I think this is more than money for kiffin. He could go anywhere and get this deal. He wants to build a Saban type legacy and which school gives him that chance better and that is lsu. I think the sexton negotiations are done.

They are never done until all sides stop increasing their offers and the coach accepts one. There are thousands of negotiations every year, not just in the realm of college football, that seem to be "done", only to change at the last minute.

Just getting home and wanted to update everyone. Expect Lane to be in BR Sunday. Unless O gets a head job he will likely be on staff. This deal as reported earlier was done on Tuesday the 18th. Also big nugget Drink from Missouri was never the 2nd option. I was not told who was but was told he was not really an option and the interest from Kiffin was so strong we really never interviewed anyone in person but vetted about 5 coaches very deeply. Baton Rouge will be hopping the next few days. Kiffin is a great hire and one that will uplift the team but also the economy around Louisiana.
PS: Lane knows who he wants to be his QB and don’t expect MVB to be in the roster.

This adds up to me. Kiffin is being sold as helping with the economy of lsu football, which is true. He will get the fanbase re-energized after Brian kelly.
