LINK

1 Penn St. Manny Diaz
2 Michigan. Jesse Minter
3 Ohio St. Jim Knowles
4 Ohio. Spence Nowinsky
5 Iowa. Phil Parker
6 Air Force. Brian Knorr
7 Clemson. Wes Goodwin
8 Notre Dame. Al Golden
9 Texas A&M. DJ Durkin
10 Georgia Glenn Schumann Will Muschamp
11 UCLA. Dayton Lynn
12 SMU. Scott Symons
13 Nebraska. Tony White
14 Florida St. Adam Fuller
15 Troy. Greg Gasparato
16 Louisville. Bryan Brown
17 Utah. Morgan Scalley
18 Alabama. Kevin Steele
19 Rutgers Joe Harasymiak
20. Ball St. Tyler Stockton

The names is the bold would likely be our best chance of getting.

There are some guys who will not leave their current job like Ohio State or Alabama DCs. I would like someone who has power 5 experience, good recruiter and a younger guy.

I think it’s really important that it is a guy who knows what it’s like to match up with high end talent.

Manny Diaz is a longshot, but he does have strong Louisiana, regional and SEC ties. I would hand him a blank check.

Didn't he coach at La Tech?

Yeah. His defense has been great but I doubt that we would leave. Isn’t Elko replacing Durkin?

I'd harass him until he files a restraining order. He may like the south better. You never know!

I don't know what Elko is doing with Durkin.

With being left out perhaps Adam Fuller would consider a move to the sec

16 Louisville. Bryan Brown

Brown was at Louisville last year, he's now at Cincinnati

Louisville now has co-DCs - Ron English and Mark Hagen, with English as the play caller

I’d be cool with English as our DC

I know FSU was down to the 3rd string QB, but I did like what I saw from that defense.

Durkin is not staying. Lots of rumors he is headed to Miss State with Lebby

I think Tony White stays put until he gets a head coaching gig. Nebraska gave him a huge raise last week to make him one of the highest paid DCs

Ball State gave UGA all they handle this year, SMU shut down Tulane. Their DC’s may be worth a look.

So we’re just looking at stats and saying “hey! This guy is great!”

Spence Nowinsky

His defense, just last season, was giving up 40 points a game. LSU fans would be burning this guys house down

I was going to go through that whole list, but this post is clearly based on looking at a list of 2023 team stats and nothing beyond that

I think CBK is just going to remodel the House and don’t expect any changes at the DC position.

Most of the Big 10 coaches listed are vastly overrated due to crappy offenses

Unfortunately this seems likely.

New position coaches and an ultimatum for House to improve to put some more pressure on him.

Hopefully this doesn't turn into BK's Tepper that he just can't let go.

why do you say/think this?

i have no idea what will happen, but i would say just the opposite. probably because that is what I want and I have a biased view of this situation.

i am of the opinion that BK came here because he wants to win a title. he said as much. i also think that BK is well aware that he missed a title opportunity with an all time good offense on the same field as an all time bad defense.

Total defense rankings when he has been a DC

2013: 5th - Florida
2014: 8th - Florida
2015: 7th - Michigan
2022: 52nd - Texas A&M - (25th in scoring)
2023: 9th - Texas A&M

Was Co-DC at Ole Miss and ranked here

2020: 127th
2021: 91st

The defenses at Ole Miss were fricking awful, but he was co-DC so not sure who was truly in charge of that since Chris Partridge was the other DC there

5 years he was the sole DC at places that have way better talent than Ole Miss and he fielded a top 10 defense 4 times. His worst defense still finished top 25 in scoring defense.
