These threads are very telling as to who understands the game of football and who doesn't.

Some of you crack me up.

Jimbo has a better collegiate resume than Harbaugh.

So does les miles for that matter.

Jimbo has had one coaching job, at one of the 5 best programs in the last 30 years.

Harbaugh has spent most of his head coaching career at fcs, Stanford and the NFL. History will remember harbaugh as a much better coach than fisher.

That being said, lsu could do a lot worse than fisher, so it's not a bad hire. Much better than anything USC has done save Pete Carroll

gets another. Oh and Jim did great in the NFL, highest level. Dare to compare ! Really ?

Someone points to a national title when the other guy, built up a prestigious Academic University into a football power, then built a NFL team into a Super Bowl team, then turned around a dumpster fire Michigan Team into a top 5 program in one year... But hes not accomplished because he doesnt have a national title or a super bowl ring... fricking idiots...

I hope Jimbo is worth emptying the bank for. When he drops 3 next year y'all are gonna be saying we should have went with O.

Not Me.. I like Jimbo, But I like Gundy more.. pair him with Aranda and wow... Fedora isnt bad but id take the other two first..

I still think Gundy and Chad Morris at SMU are the two best hires.. but like I said I think Jimbo would do well.. He is a tireless recruiter..as he has shown...

and I will post yet again:

we are going to drop games next year no matter who the coach is. we are losing players and jimbo will have had little time developing QB's and recruiting. miles dropped games every year save for 2011. Miles has left a big shite sammich and everyone has to take a bite unfortunately. I doubt he works miracles in one year. maybe of we had him this year we could have won it all. But next year? don't see it. It is why we should have canned miles last year.

I don't think that LSU will have as much falloff as you think. Most of the OL and DL's return, QB, Guice.

The db's will be good still. It just comes down to how well the WR's, LB's, and QB develops.

He had one great year because he had a prodigy at QB! He didn't do anything before then!

Isn't that the logic applied to Jimbo?

This x 1000. Next year will be rough if we lose a lot of juniors.

I just hope everyone is patient regardless of who the coach is.

i hear ya. I am just not getting my hopes up after another natty type team was wasted by miles once again. That now makes it 2006, 2007, 2011, 2012 and 2016 he had teams that were natty material. 2005 is arguable. 5 teams....and got lucky to back into one natty. unacceptable.

I am just looking at the transition a new coach will have. Especially developing QB's. maybe by year two we can win the west.

ive said it before he was a rising star.. think he took the wrong job to try and rebuild though.. although he is rebuilding it.. Great offensive mind, knows texas, will be easier to recruit at LSU. Texas and TAMU have both pegged him as potential replacements.. He basically built Clemson's offense that Dabo got credit for... I still think Gundy is the best coach to get though.. Put him with LSU's athletes/Facilities/Brand etc.. he becomes a power player..very very good offensive mind.. and he wants out of OK state...

College is a little different from NFL. Some coaches do great at the college level but not so great in the NFL and vice versa.

I would be fine with gundy. He did better than miles at OSU and miles made it to two national championship games and 3 trips to Atlanta. He's got experience as an OC and HC. Morris would be a good hire as well. Herman & fedora both successful OC's and HC's.
