who is a better hire?

Clearly ed orgeron

no one really knows, but Fisher has the better resume, on the other hand, Orgeron has had great success running the LSU program since taking over. Then you have people like Herman or Fleck who could be truly great coaches and take LSU to another level. It's a crapshoot really, but Fisher seems like the safest pick.

This. Though the few FSU fans I talked to don't feel good about it

Now hold on....My Mama's kin folks are originally from Houma and Acadian through and through. Me and my cousins back home are all solid Jimbo supporters. Don't stereotype good Houma people to be all Orgeron supporters just because of you know what. This N. La. vs. S. La thing ain't cool. We need to be all united for the program. Just food for thought....

What about Gene Chizik head coach of the Auburn Tigers? Would he be in you top 5 of great college coaches. He won a national championship in 2010.

Maybe we should hire Gene Chizik if winning a national championship is proof of being a great coach or we could just rehire Les Miles.

That kinda my point about all this "Jimbo won a NC" talk. Miles won one too.........how many top programs are beating down his door?

Jimbo isn't all that.
Absolutely, these fools get all excited because he won a recent national title. Wow, big deal, he may never return there again just like Les Miles. Fisher had a Heisman trophy QB that took him to the big dance and won it for him, and I do mean won it for him because a decent Auburn team with Nick Marshall at QB had them beat.

you're right about Fisher having all that talent every season and for what he has underachieves just like Les Miles. Florida is a state rich in football talent just like LA, even more talent imo because it's a bigger state with more schools. FSU stays loaded just like LSU. So this guy should be in the hunt every damn season like Alabama, but he wasn't all that when he was at LSU with Saban, just an OC/QB coach who ran his offense. He is not Nick Saban who is the complete coach that wins titles and these idiots will see it if they hire him.

But because he has a proficient enough offense that can actually move the ball on teams and not a Les Miles' prehistoric offense that can't move the damn ball, these fools are all over his dick riding it. LOL

I'm not sure about that. We have plenty of studs ready to suit up. I'm sure any coach who's coming in to take the reigns will be licking their chops. The cupboard here is not bare.

Who do you want? Do you want to roll the dice with someone who has bad, mediocre, or no results? It's not like we can hire Nick Saban or Urban Meyer.

I'm not sure if anyone is beating down his door, but he's been connected to the possible ND opening. I think he's actually the odds favorite. Good, bad, or indifferent, that's reality.

Meh. I don't want a coach that loses 63-20 despite having a more talented team.

Saban lost to Georgia 45-14 in 2004. So does that mean you would keep CEO instead of rehiring Nick if he wanted to come back to Baton Rouge?

I think the coach had something to do with that..

Did Miles follow that up with a conference title and a top 4 finish. Better yet, Jimbo has as many conference titles as Miles has SEC West titles.

This has been my take since his name has been
mentioned, I believe jimbo knew the whole story
and chose a natty and over looking a serious crime.
So championships mean more than character.

Does anybody actually believe that if Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan, Clemson etc were looking for a coach that O would be in their top 25 choices? If not then he shouldn't be in ours either.

really that's not relevant at all. Why would we care who else would or wouldn't hire him? Only thing that matters to me is that he would be a good LSU COACH.
