Infinite Jest, though I'd hesitate to recommend it to anyone. It takes an enormous amount of work for it to pay off.

The Burning Shore by Wilbur Smith.
The Gates of the Mountain by Will Henry (Clay Fisher). Can't stop reading.

Catcher in the Rye. NOT. World famous book and a must read. All serial killers have read this book. I'll give you a fair warning in advance. You will throw this book down several times vowing not to finish it, but you will pick it up again thinking something will happen. Let me know if you fell into this trap. Happy reading.

That book is a piece of crap. I fell into the trap myself.
I’m down for a good story. I don’t need drama or mystery for example.
But CITR is trash.
Time listed it as top 100 of the century. Unreal.

It became famous because it was one of the first books to openly discuss the life of a prostitute without being censored. It was really bad but famous.

Water for Elephants - Sara Gruen.
Exciting, humerous, adventurous book later assaulted by a cheap Hollywood knock off version.

Probably the first novel I read was Huckleberry Finn, and after that, I read everything I could get my hands on. My mom being an English teacher was a great advantage.
