I liked the first 2 stories, didn't care for the next 2 at all, and liked the last 2. Hearing him describe something as mundane as a signature in the second story was enthralling to me lol. The last half of it is about a character from another story and I'm really liking that one too.

what was the first? A friend recommended the Lincoln Highway to me a while ago and I knew absolutely nothing about it or AT but once I read it was permanently hooked. I absolutely loved it. I've since read AGIM and ROC but I think I'll always prefer TLH jsut because it was the first.

I tried Lincoln Highway when it first came out and just couldn't get into it and I loved Rules of Civility and A Gentleman in Moscow. Seems everyone but me is giving it rave reviews so I'll try it again soon. Maybe I just wasn't in the right frame of mind.
I saw previews today for the movie based on this novel. I had never heard of it but went out and got it the book. I want to read it before seeing the movie.

Finished Table for Two (Amor Towles) yesterday adn really enjoyed it.
With the 6 short stories, I liked the first 2, really didn' care for the next 2 at all, and then really liked the last 2.
The "Eve in Hollywood" section could basically be its own short book and continues the life of Eve that we met in Rules of Civility. Loved this part of the book. At first you think it's just going to be following her around kinda like we got in ROC but we see a larger overall story take shape and it was fun following it through to its conclusion. Now I wish AT would write something else real quick ha.
A while back I read the Seven 1/2 deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle and really liked it so now I'v epicked up that author's newest work The Last Murder and the End of the World.

Verity by Colleen Hoover. I’ve seen this book everywhere and lots of reviews on reels. Read about 1/2 so far. Really good and a little bit creepy.

Reading A Scandal in Bohemia. Just finished A Study in Scarlet and The Sign of the Four. All Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Got hooked on two recent Holmes books by Anthony Horowitz, The House of Silk and Moriarity - which led me to start reading (finally) the real thing. Glad of that! I always liked the old BW Basil Rathbone Holmes movies but never read the stories. Enjoying the reading now.

I tried re-reading The Way of Kings, and it just didn't hold my interest for some reason.
I've switch over to re-reading the First Law trilogy.

I used to read The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes every year or two. Read his whole catalog numerous times. They are just fun reads and so much better than modern mystery, which has completely forgotten about the actual mystery, and only care about the characters.
If you've never watched it, the 1980's and 90's Sherlock Holmes series that was on BBC starring Jeremy Brett is well worth a watch. Best Sherlock adaption ever imo. Most of the episodes are taken word for word from the stories. I watch it on Acorn.
