A friend recommended daniel silva so I read the first of the gabriel allon series "the kill artist" and finished it up last week. It was good, no real copmlaints, but I don't really have any desire to read any more of the series for some reason.
I’ve read a few of the Gabriel Allon books and enjoyed them. I don’t recall which was my favorite. They’re not deep reading and I had enough after reading 3-4.

is Harlequin fiction....tell me more about it
Yes it’s the first of a trilogy set in 1340s. The backdrop is the Hundred Years’ War. It’s a holy grail quest but no goofiness, no magic, and very realistic as are all Cornwell’s historical fiction books.

Just finished the Reacher book Bad Luck and Trouble today. The new season of the show is based on that book so I wanted to read it before it comes out.
Really good and it’s easy to see how it will translate into a show. Action, revenge, sex, Vegas, helicopters, terrorists, etc. Can’t wait for the show.

The Movie Board thread on if Blood Meridian could be put on the big screen made me pick it up again. Been over a decade since I have read it.

is it a series that needs to be read in order or could I pick up any random ol' entry in the Allon serires and it be fine on its own?

Same but it’s my first time reading it, just started today. Found it for $1.99 on Kindle.

They’re standalone books. He’s a super duper spy who speaks like 7 languages and is expert at everything he does. In most books he’s going undercover to defeat a Muslim enemy. He’ll interact with other spies from other agencies and save the day.
They’re entertaining books but you’ll have your fill after 2-3.

Just finished Neuromancer, it’s worth a reread. Currently halfway through Issac Asimov’s Foundation.

Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI
Probably I’m late to the party on this one, but I don’t read the new york times, etc etc , so I’d never heard of it. But saw where Marvin Scorsese is making it into a movie, so that’s good enough for me. Arrived in less than 24 hours via Amazon prime . First chapter a little underwhelming vs the hype so far

I thought it was a pretty good book. What happened to those people is beyond reprehensible.
Currently reading The Passenger by Cormac McCarthy

After 2.5 years on the shelf, I’m finally cracking open “Rhythm of War” by Brandon Sanderson.

Just started Borne by Jeff Vandemeer.
Devoured the Southern Reach trilogy and am hooked on this author. Annihilation seems to get the most praise, but it wasn't until Authority, the second book, that the series consumed me. Reviews on Authority are quite mixed, but I thought it the best of the series.
