Finished Blood Meridian this morning and damn, so heavy. Going back to Reacher books for a palate cleanser

Started The Enemy today and it’s the first Reacher book I’ve read that’s in first person, looking forward to it.

Read that and it’s companion 1493 a few months ago

I dunno.. it just didn’t do much for me . Switching back and forth between so many tribes , maybe you’ll like it more than I did.

He does touch on slavery and how it was present in the Americas long before the evil white men .

How the Americas were a thriving utopia and then the Europeans came over and wrecked it with disease.. which is true .. however that’s the price you pay for globalization and your “bubble” being intruded on.

I just downloaded it today - saw it posted here and read the description and was intrigued.

Glad to see at least two votes for it.

Cliche, but I am currently reading East of Eden by John Steinbeck fro the first time, and it is fricking fantastic.

What do you like about it? Why’s it so great? I’ve never read it myself. Just wondering…

Rereading The Growing Pains of Adrian Mole (Sue Townsend) after I read the first book again (The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole, Aged 13¾). Incredibly fun!
