Spoiler free opinion of this one vs other King works? I’ve heard good things.

I just finished The Talisman and what a ride! Maybe my favorite from King and the best single book I’ve read since Project Hail Mary last year.

It’s good, but not my favorite King book. And this one isn’t typical King. No horror. Nothing supernatural. It’s not bad though it meanders a little. Reminds me a little of 11/22/63.

Just finished....

I never left Home - Bob Hope, 1944. About his USO tour in N Afrika in 1943...

It was OK.. He tried throwing in too many jokes... But his tour would do a show for the troops at the drop of a hat. Even if out of the back of a truck just for a few guys.

The tour was Bob, Tony Romano, Jack Pepper and Francis Langford.

Just finished up Richard J Evans trilogy of the third reich

HIGHLY recommend that.

Got me into a wormhole and just checked out Red Famine- Stalin’s war on Ukraine ( very appropriate given the times) and Gulag. Born my Anne Applebaum.

Actually turned out very good. Pretty good twist at the end. Strong ending for a King book. Again, no horror and nothing supernatural, but good book nonetheless.

It's about the numbers and such... For example. In '39 out of 130 Million people in the USA, there were 40 Million automobiles.. We were leading the way.

Patton had a medal for sword fighting in France, he was a sword fighter in the 1912 Olympics and helped design the sword used by the Army for ceremonial purposes today...

So basically its a book of WWII useless information

Just finished listening to Artemis. Thought I might enjoy it because of how good Project Hail Mary is but it wasn't that great IMO. Rosario Dawson did a decent job narrating but the main character just wasn't very interesting.

The Sandman is next.
