We all think that TWOW is going to be ASOS on steroids, so what of the story will be left to tell in ADOS?
Wrapping up the different storylines/conclusions/killing off some of the remaining players. Although I think a lot of the storylines will be wrapped up by the end of TWoW.

Here is a thought, too. We've seen many times where a book is made into a TV series or movie and the writers change up so much stuff that by the end it's barely recognizable. What if the opposite happens with Game of Thrones where the show passes up the fat man and he says "frick it, I'm writing a completely different ending!"

I've wondered that before too and would laugh my arse off if show had some big spoiler that hadn't been in book yet and he released a new chapter shortly thereafter contradicting it.
Maybe when he agreed to the show he thought they'd waste years on Dany's wandering around and that he'd have time to catch up hah

If Dany is Queen at the end of the show and someone else is King/Queen at the end of the books I will find where D&D live and protest and burn their homes to the ground.

Haven't read it here or anywhere else, but was wondering if it's pretty well known that Cersei and Jamie aren't really Tywins son and daughter? That Tyrion is Tywins only true son that we know of.
Remember reading about an old lady telling Jamie(I think) something along the lines of Cersei and Jamie didn't look anything like Tywin. That Tyrion was the only one that looked like Tywin

I believe they are the Mad Kings bastards. Lots of hints with Cercei going mad like her hypothetical father, her fascination with fire, burning the tower down, her and Jamie's incest, Jamie being a kingslayer and a kinslayer, etc

Tywin's sister/Jaime's Aunt Genna Lannister-Frey was talking about Jaime's personality and true nature, not his looks.
quote:
At last, they discuss Lord Tywin, and Jaime asks her if she loved her eldest brother. Lady Genna tells him how it was Tywin, a boy of only ten, who objected to their lord father's decision to wed the seven year old Genna to Emmon Frey, who was not even the heir to the Twins. For that alone, she loved him, stating, "...every little girl needs a big brother to protect her. Who will protect us now?"
When Jaime insists that he is his father's son, his aunt replies, "You smile like Gerion and fight like Tyg, and there's some of Kevan in you, else you would not wear that cloak... but Tyrion is Tywin's son, not you."
quote:
When she reminisced to Jaime about his father Tywin and felt less protected with him gone, Jaime tried to reassure her that Tywin had left a son, her aunt replied she knew that and that was what scared her the most. When Jaime asked why her reply was...
“ Jaime, sweetling, I have known you since you were a babe at Joanna's breast. You smile like Gerion and fight like Tyg and there's some of Kevan in you, else you would not wear that cloak...but Tyrion is Tywin's son, not you. I said so once to your father's face, and he would not speak to me for half a year.[2]

The secret targ stuff is out of control. It would cheapen Jamie's redemption arc to me.

That's my only problem with this series. There's too many people with secret identities. It's quite ridiculous

IMO Jaime, Cersei, and Tyrion are all Tywin's kids. Too many Secret Targs running around as it is.

I don't think they are.

That's one of the problems that Georgie has currently. He's let the secrets and intrigues bloat to an absurd level. TWOW better start converging and consolidating or he'll lose a large portion of the readership especially with the long waits and the poor reception of ADWD(however fair or unfair we here in the CP thread think that is)

I definitely agree that he really needs to start wrapping up/tying up the loose ends, and confirming or disproving certain theories that have been floating around since AGoT. And in terms of converging and consolidating, I'm thinking with the twenty-something POV's we have that close to half of them will die by the end of TWoW.

Agreed. I think we are looking at a lot of death in this book.

I agree. The POVs need to be around what they were in GOT.
I'm thinking Cersei, Victarion, Theon, Barristan(
) are the most likely deaths

Cersei is a goner. Not much left in her story line, even if she wins her trial IMO.

I don't see how it takes so long to write these books, unless he himself doesn't knopw where it's going and just makes it up as he goes along.
I mean it has to be the longest one series has ever dragged out.

I think so too from where Jaime dreams abou his mom:
"“We all dream of things we cannot have. Tywin dreamed that his son would be a great knight, that his daughter would be a queen. He dreamed they would be so strong and brave and beautiful that no one would ever laugh at them.” “I am a knight,” he told her, “and Cersei is a queen.” A tear rolled down her cheek. The woman raised her hood again and turned her back on him."
Though I agree the secret Targaryen plots are getting out of control.

He admittedly had to scrap some of his plans after the whole Mereen debacle but god damn only two books published in 13 years? Come on man.
I totally agree. I'm sure during the combat someone unmasks Ser Rober Strong and Cersei pays with her life. Qyburn pleads for mercy, ends up at the wall, and resurrects Jon and helps defeat the wights.
