Pretty much sums it up. I've met a number of cool cats, but it's pretty much a flip of a coin as far as whether a cat will be cool or a shite. You raise a dog right and it's a decent breed and you'll have a good dog.

Maine Coon cats are pretty cool as a cat breed and seem to mostly grow up to be good cats, but they are pretty much the dogs of cats anyway.

Maine Coones are awesome cats for sure. But IMO cats reflect their owners and the amount of time the owner spends with their kitty shows in their behavior.

I've just seen too many cat owners that had a mixture of good and bad cats to believe owners have that much control over cat personalities. I have multiple friends who own more than one cat, and the personalities and attitudes of the cats vary wildly even though it's the same person raising them.

I have one friend who had two of the coolest cats I've seen with his first two cats, his third cat was a complete psycho and pretty much had to be abandoned once he and his wife had a kid.

While a person who treats their cats poorly would definitely be more likely to have a bad cat, cat personality is really a crapshoot overall IMO.

You're one to talk. You're adding to it, ad nauseam.

I know. That was a self deprecating comment.

It was a hardleg thread, now it's a cat thread.

Well, I can't sleep, so I'll throw some stuff out there to get us back on the Crack track.

Still on a slow reread of ASOS. Just before Jon gets away from the wildlings to return to the Wall, he's talking with Ygritte about the abandoned villages and how most people had fled the Gift. He tells her about plans that Ned and Benjen had before the war to rebuild and resettle the gift and said that it was "A dream for Spring".

We all think that TWOW is going to be ASOS on steroids, so what of the story will be left to tell in ADOS?

I dunno. It seems like a decent chunk of TWOW has come out in sample chapters and there still seems to be a LONG way to go.

II always figured the wildlings would resettle the gift. But heck I could see Dothraki and freed slaves from Slaver's Bay there. (I would add Unsullied but that would be a 1 generation thing.)
